Tis the Season, got to witness a "Pay it Forward" moment yesterday at the restaurant I work at, one that I don`t see or witness other than reading something on the interwebz about it.

Nice senior couple I served overheard me speaking with the table right behind them, it was a nice young lady, two young children who told me her husband was with the military, posted overseas and wouldn`t be home for the holidays so she`s doing her best to make it a great Christmas for the kids considering their father was not making it home.

Flash forward, I was about to bill the senior couple, they asked that I quietly put the bill of the young family on their tab, not say a word and be done with it other than to mention to the young woman a thanks for her husbands service.

When the time came for the woman to ask for her bill I told her another table had looked after it, she burst into tears, the kiddies were a touch confused what their mother was emotional about but a great moment at the time of year we sometimes hear about these wonderful gestures

What a heartwarming story! Love to hear these kinds of things because most folks don't truly understand how being in the military impacts the entire family, especially around the holidays. Love to hear it Andrew.

Me too, been in the restaurant biz for 3 decades, have seen some really thoughtful things occur, have definitely had one table pay it forward before but not in this situation, her two kids both under the age of 4, this young mother/wife was an absolute joy to serve but you could tell she was tired as those kids just wearing her out as she`s doing her best to keep the household running as normal as it could with her husband away.

It`s so easy for me to completely forget how difficult and emotional it is for the husbands and wives of members of the military to keep things running as normal as can be when their partner is away. She was beyond emotional, she needed quite some time to regroup herself to get the kids all packed up and off to wherever they were heading.

Just a great moment to be part of. Told Mrs Odaat the story and she too burst into tears

Sports betting is now legal in Pennslyvania and this casino is across the street from where the Steelers play

Watching "Slap Shot" for the umpteenth time :hockey: :fight::pb:

Watched it for the first time recently, really enjoyed it. Any other good hockey movie recommendations? My wife and I have a week and a half off over Xmas and hence will have a lot of free time to kill. Miracle with Kurt Russell has pretty good reviews so might give that a whirl.

Vine, HQ Trivia co-founder Colin Kroll dead at 35 - NY Daily News

Colin Kroll, the CEO and co-founder of the popular trivia app HQ Trivia, was found dead in his SoHo apartment early Sunday from an apparent drug overdose, police sources said.

Cops found Kroll, 35, unconscious in the bedroom of his Spring St. home with drug paraphernalia around him after his concerned girlfriend called authorities around 12:20 a.m. because she hadn’t heard from him, sources said.

Kroll reportedly took cocaine and heroin prior to his overdose, according to TMZ.

“We really honestly don’t even know all the details. I’m sure they will unfold as they may but please keep in mind that people are grieving,” a woman, who identified herself as a cousin, told the Daily News.

Kroll co-founded HQ with Rus Yusupov, and the game debuted in August 2017 to considerable popularity. HQ users compete with other players as part of a live game show, and win prize money if they get all 12 trivia questions correct.
At its height, HQ drew more than 2 million players per game, and in March, banked $15 million in venture funding, giving it a reported post-money valuation of $100 million.

But its popularity has waned in recent months – HQ did not have a place in the iPhone App Store’s Top 200 most downloaded free apps as of Sunday morning, despite having spent much of last year in the Top 10.

Definitely watch Miracle. Best story ever, and the hockey scenes were well done.

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else, but I think this is a very good indicator that your goalie's body language shows he just doesn't care any more

haha, the reaction of his teammates patting him on the head for doing it still kills me every time

Yeah I thought that was a riot too. What else can you do when you skate back after you give up a 3 on 0 and your goalie does that?

Say "Good play" I guess :DD
