I think it's just a depth move. Not sure if Braun can play the left side. We've got a very young d-core though and injuries happen.

We have Schneider on the right side (although has played some left down in the AHL), but I guess the organization wanted to have a vet for playoffs. Schneider has taken 2 bad penalties recently so maybe the organization thinks he'll struggle thrown into playoffs. Either way, it's a 3rd next year so no biggy here.

Braun is actually a decent pickup in a vacuum because he's good defensively which the Rangers desperately need, but pairing him with Nemeth is going to be a disaster.
