Flyers trade J-F Berube to NYR in exchange for future considerations

The Philadelphia Flyers announced they have traded goaltender J-F Berube to the New York Rangers in exchange for future considerations, according to President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Chuck Fletcher.

Berube was in his first season with the Flyers organization after signing a one-year, two-way contract on July 1, 2019. He appeared in two preseason games for the Flyers during training camp.
Berube has an 12-11-4 record with a 2.56 goals-against average and .906 save percentage in 29 appearances with the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, this season.
The 6-1, 177-lb goaltender spent the 2018-19 season with the AHL's Cleveland Monsters, where he went 21-22-0 with a 3.01 GAA and a .896 GAA in 43 appearances. In 197 career AHL games, Berube has a 111-66-24 record with a 2.49 GAA and a .909 save percentage. He helped the Manchester Monarchs win the Calder Cup in 2015 with a 13-3 playoff record in 17 appearances.

Berube has appeared in 34 NHL games over parts of three seasons with the New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks, going 9-10-4 with a 3.39 GAA and a .898 save percentage. He was selected by Los Angeles in the fourth round (95th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

This is not anything to do with Georgiev. This move is purely for Hartford and to add some veteran AHL experience to assist Adam Huska.

Now that Shesterkin is stayin with NYR, the Wolfpack needed another goalie to share the duties.

As far as I understand it, future considerations can be literally anything - "buy me a cup of coffee the next time you see me." could be future considerations.
