Rykov plays with Shestyorkin at SKA, so I'm sure our scouts are very familiar with him. And it was said (don't remember where) that the Rangers are more interested in prospects than picks. Makes sense with all that in mind.

I wonder if Gorton traded him locally as a solid to Grabner (so he won't have to leave his family), in order for him to sign back with the Rangers in the offseason.
