Nyquist is not worth a 1st to the Bruins or probably any current playoff team. NOT A CHANCE.

AA - Bruins wont give the package needed to land him.

Is Torey Krug available? Gustav Nyquist + a pick for Torey Krug.

As for AA, I can never gage his value appropriately.

Boston paid a 1st in a deep draft for Rick Nash last year but wont pay a 1st in a mediocre draft for Nyquist this year.

LOL.

Ugh, please not Nyquist. The last thing the Bruins need is another left handed winger that avoids contact like everyone out there has scabies

What? Nyquist doesn't avoid contact. Not sure where you're getting the idea that he's soft simply because he isn't physical. He has no bones about going to the dirty areas to score or contribute. Hell, most of his points this year have seemed to come from the faceoff circles on in.

By all means though, what do you have in mind for Nyquist? I think a 2nd would have done it a month ago, but the local chatter (merited or not) is that the rebuild is going well and he might be still valuable as a 2nd line winger when this ship turns around.
with him on pace for 70pts, a late 2nd isnt gonna cut it

detroit will probably get a 1st + B prospect now

So, no reasonable deal can be worked out with AA in it.

Could something be worked out around Nyquist for a young defenseman? Knowing the Wings are targeting a 1st round pick for Nyquist?

AA isnt a center per se but he'll play there at times. Larkin is out for the next 2 weeks and AA is playing center. I tihnk he has value in that he can play there short term with injuries but over the course of a season hes definitely a winger first and foremost. It would take a decent package to get him I think, but Boston is a team that I could see having the pieces. Its going to cost a Frederic/Vaakaininen/JFK/Donato though. The Bruins have young center prospects and D prospects to make a trade for AA work, but hes a legit top 6 NHL winger under team control for a while.

As for Nyquist, depends on how many forwards are on the market I think but maybe a 1st, or a second and solid prospect. Not a top 5 guy but maybe tail end of the top 10. Without really looking maybe Zboril? I cant say I know many other guys in that tier for the Bruins

Nyquist is playing well The Bruins would be doing well to get him. Only 29 and don’t have to give up the farm to get him. Although if he keeps getting points he might net the wings a great return

I know this is just a "proposal" by why would the Wings move Athanasiou? Every time I watch this guy he just so good, seems like a guy you hang on to through this rebuild.

Nah. Zboril is a project at this point. He's more likely fodder for a top rental but not for a cost-controlled top sixer who is the prototype for the current NHL. For better or worse, the Wings brass (as do I) thinks they're further along in the rebuild than most spectators realize and Zboril won't give Detroit anything close to the impact AA does in the next few years.

Funny because he's sure pretty much in every trade, That i see Bruin fans making.

Yes every trade proposal involving the Bruins that wasn’t made by a Bruins does involve Tory Krug because everyone wants him, a LD Play making defenceman is hard to come by. If you ask a Most Bruins fan they will agree with me and say Tory Krug is NOT for sale

I am not like most Bruins fans ,if the right deal comes along deal him.He makes to much money to just be power play specialist, and defensive liability.........

Fans are slow to adapt. Its a relic from his hold-out year + the fact that he took a while to mature. People are still operating under the impression that he is regarded as question mark. About 1.5 years ago, Holland publicly stated that he didn't want to give AA what he wanted during negotiations but didn't want to let him go because while he could just be a 3rd liner, he could also "go on to score 30 goals." AA was an enigma at that point. But then he showed a ton of progression last year after the hold-out and this year he's taken yet another step or two. At this point, he's answered the bell as a 2nd liner while also still having some untapped potential. He's also a guy that doesn't need to piggyback off of someone else. Being on a good line will boost his assist totals but he can still be a game-changer on a lower line.

To top it all off, he's become very good friends with Tyler Bertuzzi - a fan favorite and a guy that the Wings brass just absolutely adores. His age + being RFA after his current contract expires makes him a much bigger talent value than people realize.
