Haha I know. I just took the opportunity to compare it to the OP to highlight how bad the OP was.By no means did I actually think that this was a realistic proposal.
Well seeing as Nylander was a 7OA pick that is developing very well, a top 5-10 pick in return would be expected. Why would we take a pick that is protected of that?espically trading him to a division "rival"?What's so funny of putting a condition on a first that is likely to be a top 5 pick with great odds at either Hughes or Kakko. No team would give that up for Nylander.
Nylander ain't worth a top 5 pick esp when the odds of Hughes or Kakko are high. Just no way. Why would we gift Hughes to Toronto? Just so he can form one of the deadliest duos with Matthews?Well seeing as Nylander was a 7OA pick that is developing very well, a top 5-10 pick in return would be expected. Don't be so dumb.Nylander is worth more than the whole Habs roster + prospects at this point, honestly.

Quality post.Nylander is worth more than the whole Habs roster + prospects at this point, honestly.
Please educate yourself before posting such bs. Brook is one of our best prospect, they guy has been nothing but stellar. Also you are dreaming if you think the Habs traded that unprotected 1st and a high end prospect for Nylander. That 1st alone has a great chance of being top 5...and the leafs laugh at the habs trying to get nylander for a 3rd line winger, a prospect that isnt even one of their best, and a non top 10 pick.
Sergachev might have gotten it done. the habs dont have the pieces now unless its something like unprotected 1st+ Suzuki
Hughes is 18 and likely better than any leafs player maybe asides matthews offensively. Tavares is 28, a 10 year difference. Plz we ain't giving young superstars away while we can draft them. Also Hughes wouldn't be a 4C lmao.dude we already have our deadly duo with matthews tavares lol. not saying we wouldnt pick hughes but your acting like we need him. Kadri 32 goal back to back seasons is our trio. Rookie Hughes for 4c would make it the deadlist quatro? quado? iuno
We'll Toronto wouldn't trade him in a picks trade for anything short of an unprotected top 10 pick. If anything we're moving him for a young top 4 defenseman (which you don't have) We don't want to move him. If you could get your men and women to stop making trade proposals for him that would be splendid.Nylander ain't worth a top 5 pick esp when the odds of Hughes or Kakko are high. Just no way. Christ you need to bring it down a step if you think Hughes would be the best Leafs player today. That is actually more ridiculous then the OP by a sizable margin. It is good to see you have your hopes so so set on getting Hughes this far out though. That 20% at best chance at it must be tantalizing.Hughes is 18 and likely better than any leafs player maybe asides matthews offensively. Tavares is 28, a 10 year difference. It really doesn't, and the gap between a 1st overall pick and a 5 is massive. Similar to Colorado's situation, the pick has way too much volatility to be valued as a clear top 5 pick, hence why a GM won't gamble trading for it at that value, and why the Habs won't trade it for much less than that value. Please educate yourself before posting such bs. Go look at the lottery odds before you pencil in Hughes...Hughes is 18 and likely better than any leafs player maybe asides matthews offensively. Tavares is 28, a 10 year difference. Plz we ain't giving young superstars away while we can draft them. Also Hughes wouldn't be a 4C lmao.

It absolutely does. The Habs have no defense and no centers. Price can play like Hasek if he wants, that defense won't help him at all and at the very worst they are bottom 7. Nobody can score goals. Habs aren't trading that AND a high end prospect for another winger. It really doesn't, and the gap between a 1st overall pick and a 5 is massive. Unless you absolutely bottom-out like the 2014/15 Sabres, one hot-streak by Price in April can turn that projected top 5 pick into a 6-10 range pick which has significantly less value.
Brooks is a prospect, and maybe one of your better ones, but he isn't even a consensus top 100 outside the NHL guys, and that also makes him a fairly volatile asset. If the Leafs trade Nylander they need something similar in age, which is close to a sure thing.
LOLIf Nylander ever does become available, the Habs won't come close to being able to field a competitive offer without an unprotected 2019 1st round pick.
