Would have to be Heiskanen+ and even then, we have a glut of LHD already. Would rather just resign Nylander at a fair cap hit, then hopefully these threads can stop.

What other pieces would the Leafs even remotely be interested in?
They dont need prospect depth, they don't need picks, the don't need goalies, they don't need forwards. They literally only need top-end defenseman.
It's fine if Dallas doesn't want to provide one but they won't get Nylander any other way.

It’d take Klingberg or Heiskanen. Both are no-go for the Stars. Thread already seems to be in unanimous agreement about that.
There simply isn’t a trade to be had that brings Nylander to Dallas.

If Leafs can`t afford him which I doubt concerning his contract demand and they need to sign both M & M next season. I would be happy with a future for him or Maybe ADA + Tampa conditional 1st/2nd pick from us Rangers, but we can`t afford his salary anyway so we blew that with resigning some players who might not be good enough to play NHL this season.

They would call and then hang up once a player is mentioned. I think Dallas is a little more professional than you are giving them credit for.

Yes but it`s unrealistic they will not move their top talent on their blueline for this kind of deal.

Exactly! 50-60 point wingers aren’t worth as much as Leafs fans are dumbfoundedly thinking. A top-4 defenseman on an ELC is miles more valuable than a winger who doesn’t give a f*** when he doesn’t have the puck.

When in Nylanders NHL career was he a 50 pts winger and when in Heiskanen's has he been an NHL top-4 defender?

Bad for Dallas because it wouldn't be surprising if he looks like a top pairing D in his first NHL season. You can't trade that away even if he hasn't had the opportunity to prove that yet. A month or less into the season it could look like a disasterous trade if he's that good out of the gate. And there are scouts and players familiar with both who think he's just as good as Dahlin. Anyway, Nylander doesn't come close to getting Heiskanen just because his potential is so incredibly high.
