Ilya is going to be huge. It's a smart contract for both parties. If Ilya knocks it out of the park, he is going to get a big pay day after 20-21. I would not be surprised if he does. He gets to play behind a good Trotz system that often makes Goaltenders look good, and he gets Korn and Greco as tutors. Also one would be remised to not mention Lou, who has the midas touch with Goalies.

Setting things up for Sorokin to be a long term piece for the Isles. Things are working out very nicely.

Sorokin would not have come over had Snow still been the GM. Lou opened dialogue with Sorokin once he became the GM of the Isles. This has been a long process, Lou invested his time in this. He gets credit for getting Sorokin, which should be no surprise given his previous Russian acquisitions. Kovy, Fetisov, and needless to say the importance he puts in goaltending.
