This is just desperate illogic from folks who can't stand the idea of losing their extra McDavid ticket.

We still won the trade by a landslide. Suck it up and admit that netminding was an atrocious hole for them last season and with Halak it should be league average, which will make a huge difference in the standings.

Bad analysis starts being pretty obvious when you're arguing that the team you want to lose will probably lose just because their players are gonna decide to stop trying. If that's what you're hanging your hat on, you might wanna take a long bath and think things through.

The Isles will be bad because the Isles are always bad.

Halak is not the goalie I would commit a long term contract to. He's become expendable twice now. I am not impressed when I hear his interviews. He strikes me as a type a guy that doesn't hate losing.


But they are the Isles, so he'll probably sign somewhere else anyway. Every can keep pretending that they aren't a horrible team, but I have like 7 years of history showing they are.
