I wouldn’t do this for Backes in his prime, never mind the garbage cap dump he is now.

JDog, are you high? This is beyond terrible for Edmonton.

Don’t even start with the ‘Bruins say no too!’ junk. This is so bad for Edmonton I don’t even know where to start.

Taking nothing away from Carlo who is a fine young defensive defenceman but Edmonton doesn’t do this if Boston adds its top prospect and Heinen.

according to TSN, Nugent-Hopkins plays LW/Center. at best he is a 50pt per season guy, which we do not want at the cost of Carlo who is already playing 20 mins as a top 4 defenseman.
Carlo is off the table
Mcavoy is off the table
Krug (NMC/NTC) off the table

if any of these players are involved you can keep Nugent Hopkin

Neal Pionk is playing 22 minutes a night. Does this make him 10% better than Carlo?

don't know I never watched him play, put I have watched Carlo play and he is a top 4 D
Fair enough. 1 other question: How is Krug "off the table" when many reports in Boston are saying he's absolutely on the table? What source do you have that says he's off? (ok that's 2 questions)

because he has a NMC/NTC and I just don't see him waving it to go Edmonton, [MOD]

He doesn't have a NMC... you are incorrect.
You are closer (but still not 100% correct) about his NTC.

He has a modified NTC with 8 teams he can be traded to.

He's on the table.

I think you just confirmed that has NTC would eliminate Edmonton as destination. He's an American, Oilers have about the worse weather and travel schedule in the league, and are an iffy playoff team.

So TSN tells you he is a LW/C and people who have watched every game he has played in the NHL tell you he has played about 30 games on the wing out of 501 in total his whole career and you decide he is a LW. At this point in his career he would be a clear upgrade on Krejci. BUt this deal makes no sense for the Oilers so it is not longer worth the debate.

I didn't say he would waive for EDM. I said he's not "off the table". The poster I was responding to says the same thing in every proposal that involves Carlo, McAvoy and Krug (not just ones involving EDM).

Maybe I should have been more clear, he is a 50 point Center man who can also play LW. Boston needs help on RW. If it is going to cost us Krug, Carlo or McAvoy to get him centering Boston 3nd line Boston declines. Krug has a NTC which he would have to wave in order for Boston to trade him to Edmonton, there is no way he would wave his NTC to play in the Edmonton (socialist) Canada and live in a igloo.

I think Carlo and RNH should have similar value. Backes is negative at this point. Carlo is one of the best young defensive defensman in the NHL. I wouldn’t trade him unless we are getting a bigger fish.

I agree, there is no was I would trade Carlo for a 50 point centerman, It would take a huge fish to get Carlo from Boston
