Also FWIW I see that the per game numbers seem to favour Boeser but for actual production, Ehlers has had more points every season of his career except one.

Ehlers edges him in productivity which seems to be the only metric the OP has given. Ehlers gets less ice time, 16:27 TOI/G vs Boeser's 18:27 TOI/G and has spent less time on the PP in 397 games (767:17 mins, 55 PPP) than Boeser has in 229 games (806:23 mins, 64 PPP) while Ehlers produces those numbers on the second power play unit. Ehlers actually outproduces Boeser at 2.15 P/60 vs 2.06 P/60. Aside from sheer productivity, Ehlers is just a far more dynamic hockey player.

“Productivity” while ignoring per game stats.

Looking at the stats provided by the OP, Boeser is the more productive offensive player. He's also clearly the more well-rounded player, if you look beyond the stats.

And, yet, Ehlers is winning?
Proof for the bolded? I would say Ehlers is much more well-rounded.

The stats are entire career based boxcar stats, not all that relevant to this exact moment. If you look at the past few seasons, factor in per60 stats and powerplay opportunities, look at GAR or relative stat numbers, you will find why Ehlers is winning the poll.

“Productivity” while ignoring per game stats.

It's looking at their career statistics based on time on ice because they clearly don't get the same opportunities to play the same minutes. It simply explains the difference in raw totals noted in the OP's post. There's nothing wrong with Boeser's raw offensive numbers, but I'm simply pointing out that Ehlers scores at a slightly higher rate/60 given the lesser ice time he gets over his career. Ehlers also played his entire season at age 19 and developed in the NHL which hurts his production rates and is previously an argument that's popped up in Nylander debates because Nylander had better per game stats, but he got to develop in the AHL before transitioning full time to the NHL. Different paths, but I still take Ehlers with no regrets.

I've got to get back to work, but I'd be interested in seeing how much of the PPG and PP/60 changes if you take away their age 19 seasons where Boeser went down to develop and Ehlers developed in the NHL.

Ehlers 5v5 - 18/19-20/21

2.37 P/60
14:08 toi
90 points in 161 games

Boeser 5v5 - 18/19-20/21

2.01 P/60
14:00 toi
74 points in 158 games

Ehlers PP - 18/19-20/21

5.85 P/60
1:22 seconds per game PP
19 PPP in 161 games

Boeser PP - 18/19-20/21

3.85 P/60
3:51 seconds per game PP
39 PPP in 158 games

It becomes a blowout 5v5 if you just use 19/20-20/21 so I used Ehlers bad(for him) 18/19 season as well.

Seen enough of both and I like Boeser’s offensive intelligence and scoring capabilities more but definitely think Ehler’s skating gives him an element Boeser can’t compete with. Gun to head I choose Boeser, just produces more.

Apparently reading is hard because a poster about 2 posts up from you showed the production rates over the past 3 years, which clearly favour Ehlers.
Yeah I saw that and it told a story that the poster wanted to tell- why weigh bs stats like P/60 over normal rate?

I'm not a Canuck or Jets fan, I have no dog in this fight.
