Hank or Dank the other day said he has been playing against men already. But yes, it is all spec.

1989. And when did the 2 you mentioned actually become the dominant HOFers? Do you think that happened when they were 21? Or did they have a learning curve and scale of progression?

The KHL and NHL are largely different games. The big ice surface makes the KHL a slow it down game, and where there is more time and space. You have more time to think out there. The NHL is a much faster game, and the skill level is still better. This is more 90% of the best come to play.

You honestly think the Canucks should keep a guy who can't play "passable" NHL defense on the roster for half a decade? Because that's what you're arguing against.

Well how long do we have to keep Weber before we decide that he is not "passable"? I figured that one out in 2015 yet he remains in all his glorious ineptitude.

The problem is that some here and elsewhere are projecting things on to Tryamkin and already trying to start "controversy" or whatever you want to call it, instead of watching and making informed opinions. Guaranteed he is going to be responsible for some mistakes in his own end. Don't need a crystal ball to know that much.

No one is saying that Tryamkin should be dumped if he's not a HOFer right away.

They are saying he should be dumped if he's not an NHLer after a few seasons.

Agreed. That's why I am saying that there is an expected learning curve and it will take at least half a season for the big man to adjust. Even if he didn't have all the extra obstacles to overcome, there would still be a big adjustment period. Add in the language, change of lifestyle etc etc and we need to give him so room for growing pains. That's all I'm saying.

Probably be about 3 games before the usual suspects start trying to run him out of town though lol:shakehead

Are people really wondering if this 6'7.5 241 pound monster is going to be able to handle the ''men'' in the NHL? lol.

I have every confidence that Tryamkin has the speed and physical attributes to be a top four D-man. My only concerns are can he adapt to the speed and can he develop his offensive game. I think at worst he becomes a super fast Hal Gill penalty kill specialist.

He would match up perfectly to Hutton's game if he can adapt to the speed of the game.

ok, this kid has serious swag.

I am marking out so hard. Imagine following a weird no-name freak in Russian Juniors. Then your team randomly drafts him out of nowhere as an overager. Then he actually comes over and starts with the NHL team. This is one of the best things in my experience as a Canucks fan. :)

Even if Tryamkin busts, this is still super epic for me. Like the one career game my favorite WHL player Zack FitzGerald played with the Canucks.

Said it before....pair Tryamkin with either Sbisa or Bartkowski....if he can prop up either of those two guys, he's on his way....seemed to work for Hutton earlier in the year.

The fact that he can play his off-side also speaks to at least some decent level of hockey IQ.

Really hope he's in vs. Jets as I have tickets.

His personality is showing and he can barely speak English. That's awesome, the kid is a comedian.
