Oh well. We have a bunch of guys ahead of him for the Leafs (Gauthier, Spezza or Petan), and the Marlies don't need him exactly either.

Honestly, the roster spot is more valuable at this point.

Winnipeg sure loves 4th line guys from us that do nothing. Lindholm and now Shore.

Shore wasn't terrible, he just didn't add anthing positive.

Now it comes down to Petan/Timashov and Goat as the 13th forwards. Petan is the next to go once Marner comes back.

They have a couple of more skilled Marlie vets for later call ups if they straighten out the cap issues. Good for him getting a look from the Jets tho.

The addition of a contract slot = good.

Yep. It's actually better for us that he got claimed than if he had cleared. Now we have more flexibility while losing a player that had absolutely no place on the NHL or AHL rosters.

That's not to rang on the guy, as he's far from the worst player in the league. And Shore probably knew, as well as anyone, that he had no place and no purpose here. It should only be better for him, too, that he's joining Winnipeg. They at least must see some purpose for him. And I wish him well.

He can play (more than he would have here, going forward). IMO, the Leafs have better, longer term options and the obvious limits (cap, roster) to work within.
