1 year deal. His last show me what you got deal. He finished strong and broke out in the AHL last year. Perhaps he makes the team as a 12th-13th forward to keep younger guys down?

Well, at least there's one happy Sens fan with this news

On a serious note, I still think this guy can carve out a role on a 4th line (whether that's in Ottawa or elsewhere). It's a shame we've got guys like Smith and Beodkker blocking spots in the bottom-six, because he's the type of guy a rebuilding team could give a legitimate look. With the roster the way it is now I'm not convinced he gets a real opportunity in camp.

Stepped his game up in a massive way last year, wonder if there's anymore he hasn't shown us yet.

I'm cool with giving him another chance to make the big club. He showed bursts last year in the NHL and his AHL numbers were a clear step up. But caring about Nick Paul is about #50 on my list of worries / priorities about this team.

Couldn't agree more.

Seems kinda silly to say a team with only 11 F's signed isn't gonna have a spot for him, but I truly believe it in this case.

Maybe guys like Smith and Boedkker will play higher in the lineup than I'm anticipating and leave a spot open for Paul, but I think the spots designated for rookies will be higher in the lineup and go to guys with more skill (Batherson/Brown).

Really hope Boedker is moved so Paul and others knocking get a better chance to crack this bad roster.

He was as good as brown and batherson last year so I’d like to see more. Was the driving force on their line a lot of the time

Maybe in the AHL.

He's also 24. Those other guys are 21 and last year was their first pro season.

Paul is getting a bit too big for the kids table these days.

No reason why he can't be an NHLer. Dude will never be a star, but he can fit on most of the 4th lines in the league.

I’m down with Nick Paul getting a long look at NHL level.
He never seems to get a fair shot, he’s looked really good the last few call ups + he how he played down in the A
