Figured we could share the overall/potentials and names of players to be created. The roster update assigning drafted players and free agency and such comes out today.

So far for myself;

Mikko Lehtonen - TOR - 79 - Medium Top 4
Rodion Amirov- TOR - 69 - Medium Top 6
Yaroslav Askarov- NSH - 71 - Medium Elite
Jake Sanderson - OTT - 75 - ??????*

*For Sanderson, I am debating Medium Elite versus High Top 4. Id prefer doing low elite, but low elites never develop, as we all know, which isn’t what I want. Would love some input here

Last year when I made Kaprizov I started him around 80 rated with high top 6 F potential. It made him usually a 30-40 goal guy

Plus I would say medium elite for Sanderson but I am biased as a Sens fan lol

Another Sens prospect who can be created is Jacob Bernard-Docker, who I'll probably start around 74 or so with medium top 4

Cole Caufield is another I’d prefer to do Low Elite with. Might try it and see if maybe they fixed the low potential thing

Is anyone able to check if the created players shot bias is fixed in NHL 21? Previously, created players would shoot 300-400 times in a season regardless if they were a sniper, playmaker, or defensive defenseman. Really ruins creating players when a playmaker like Zegras is scoring 50 goals a year.

Tristian Luneau - Defence
Antonin Verreault - Forward

One thing I can tell you is if Verreault keeps playing like he did for the first 4 games of the season, he will have a shot at being a top 15 pick. He's so so good. Luneau will be a high pick as well.

Man these ratings are disgusting. I can't wait until they have roster sharing so we can edit players and have a real gap between stars and grinders, etc. And an even bigger gap for lower level players.

NHL 94 had players in the 40s, maybe even the 30s.

The full potential list of players to be added, from what I gathered in research and online, let me know if I missed any or any are already in the game. Thanks.

Those who fell through the cracks (taken out of the game) [apparently],

Ian Scott - Toronto
(more to come I am sure)

Can't believe players who've been in the game for years somehow disappear, but that is EA, and it always happens. There are probably so many more, it's a nightmare! lol.

Upcoming draft prospects that need to be added:

2021:
(This seems to be a step-down Draft, one of the worst since the Nico Hischier and then Nail Yakupov drafts).

Jesper Wallstedt - Goalie
Owen Power - Defence
Luke Hughes - Defence
Chaz Lucius - Forward
Fabian Lysell - Forward
Simon Edvinsson - Defence
Samu Tuomaala - Forward
Kent Johnson - Forward
Aito Iguchi - Forward
Matvei Petrov - Forward

2022:
(Not going to lie don't know much about this draft, other than Geekie, Nelson, and Luneau).

Conor Geekie - Forward
Keaton Dowhaniuk - Defence
Nate Danielson - Forward
Mats Lindgren - Defence
Jordan Gustafson - Forward
Oasiz Wiesblatt - Forward
Ty Nelson - Defence
Pano Fimis - Forward
Max Namestinikov - Forward
Tristian Luneau - Defence
Antonin Verreault - Forward

(Can't find many players to be created, as surprisingly some are in the game, already. This is the loaded, Shane Wright, Matthew Savoie, Brad Lambert draft. This has the potential to be one of the best drafts, ever! Especially since the McDavid draft. My knowledge of the WHL is far superior to my knowledge of the OHL and especially QMJHL).

2023:
(Bedard is going to be a star! And a few other good picks here too).

Connor Bedard - Forward
Adam Fantilli - Forward
Matvei Michkov - Forward
Brayden Yager - Forward
Riley Heidt - Forward
Lukas Dragicevic - Defence
Tanner Molendyk - Defence
Kalan Lind - Forward
Sam Oremba - Forward

2024:
Aron Kiviharju - Defence
Berkly Catton - Forward

As far as I know. Let me know!

I got the game when it came out one thing I found odd is Dylan Holloway wasn't even in the game. In franchise mode you dont see the college players

Do NCAA players not exist in ea sports

No. Main reason for this thread tbh. All the NCAA and Russian prospects/players coming over need to be created.

EA doesn't have the license for NCAA players. Same thing every year, NHL players need to play one game before allowing to be put it. AHL players need to sign waiver/PHPA form to be in the game and that even if they were before in any of the 3 CHL league. It's the reason why Ian Scott is not in the game even if he was when playing junior in Prince Albert, he have to sign a paper to be put in the game, it's not EA it's the PHPA fault. Everything is about licensing not laziness or lack of knowledge.

FYI - created prospects remain glitched in NHL 21, so if a realistic Franchise Mode is something you want, you're better off waiting until EA adds them into the game themselves (which, admittedly, could take a very long time)

you mean the draft that produced back to back calder winners in Pettersson and Makar, and a #1 d on the western conf champs in Heiskanen within 3 yrs? If thats a weak draft whats a strong draft after 3 years. Just because consesus was wrong doesn't make it a weak draft

This isn't about prospects per se, but I'm borrowing this thread because it's on the topic of editing players. Maybe you've come across this problem when editing prospects too ...

When editing defenseman, anyone noticed how the overall when editing a player is one number, but everywhere else the number is different?

For example, Josh Manson is listed as an 84 overall in all the menu's, but when you "open him up" he's an 81 overall. Meanwhile, a more offensive defenseman such as Cale Makar is listed as an 85 overall, but when you edit him he's an 86.

In my opinion, defensive attributes has had too big of an impact on the overall numbers for many years now, while puck skills had too little of an impact. In his prime, it was a challenge to edit Erik Karlsson realistically while keeping him above 90 overall.

Now, it looks like EA finally made changes to how certain attributes affects defensemen overall numbers. But apparently they forgot to make the changes carry over outside edit player mode. It's really confusing and EA needs to patch this so the same overall is displayed everywhere.

I agree about their Overall attribute system. Somethings are too heavily weighted and some don't have enough weight.

And yeah, there's some glitch with d-men in the game about their overall being different when you go to edit them and different in another screen.

Did anyone see any new players be added with the newest roster update compared to the last one that had players missing?!

I noticed Garett Sparks is now in the game.

I am not using EA's newest roster update, as I spent the last month editing my roster. Will just put Hamonic, Perry etc in. Not going to re-do everything for the new Sens jerseys, as nice as they are.
