Yup, everything is still up, and most is comfortably up YoY: overall, cable, ESPN, TNT, exclusives, non-exclusives, etc.. Everything except the ABC games. Still realistic to break 1.0M on a couple of the remaining but I'm more just hoping can keep the season average above 900k -- which is surprising since last regular season was 1.0M avg on ABC.

FWIW, back to Wednesday's non-exclusive game. There's only been 3 non-exclusive games to break 400k since TNT started having non-exclusive games last season.

538k Bruins-Devils (NJ market blacked out)
472k Bruins-Lightning (BOS market blacked out)
403k Bruins-Red Wings (BOS market blacked out)

So the 472k this week is a better # than it seems, 2nd-best non-exclusive game in the past two seasons.

And obviously the Bruins can salvage non-exclusive games unlike any other team/market.

How do these US numbers compare with Canada’s TV numbers?

TNT 'flexed' their Wednesday April 17th game from originally scheduled Penguins-Islanders to now Leafs-Lightning.

Pens-Isles was going to be non-exclusive, so it's now an exclusive game but really no change since involving a Canadian team equals the result of being a one-market game.

Interesting change, especially if Pens-Isles ends up having any playoff implications.

AM34 70-goal chase / Kucherov Art Ross chase is possibly what they were going for?

The combined 337k for the late game is the best TNT # for a game starting 9:30pmET or later since TNT's opening night.

So shows both how much the late-games have struggled this year (no surprise, a norm, but they haven't done well) as well as how this Wednesday was a decent enough number, in context.

Tampa has a chance to catch Toronto too so it's game that can change stuff.

Generally, a game to get in the playoffs or not is more interesting than for-seeding -- but tacking on Matthews' goals and Kucherov in the Art Ross race evens it up more. At least, in theory. Plus of course, can't know if Pens-Isles will be any sort of win-and-in game.

The interesting thing here is that we won't know until the time comes if the switch of games was a good choice or not.

The other factor that hasn't been mentioned yet, is the truTV simulcast. They don't simulcast non-exclusive games so now with the change it can be simulcast and with what they're trying to do with truTV, that's content available in this case.

Considering it also featured a Canadian team, making it the equivalent of a non exclusive game, makes the number even more decent in context

I feel like people greatly overestimate the size of the Devil’s fanbase just because they are in the NY Market, it’s really not that large. Plus the Devils have had a very disappointing year, the Rangers have been great and the Rangers winning the prior 3 matchups this season probably lead to a significant decline in viewership from Devil fans for this game.

Sure the number could’ve been higher but I’m never going to complain about a 550k number
