Don’t know if it has been mentioned, but Warner Bros. discovery is trying to turn TruTv into kind of a prime time sports network beginning this week ahead of the NCAA Tournament. So a select number of the TNT games are also going to be simulcast on Trutv beginning with Oilers-Caps tonight.

Yeah, the debut was Monday for the truTV 'sports block' of programming on weeknights. With their show "TNT Sports Tonight" which I watched to see how much NHL coverage (1 minute of Pens-Oilers HLs from Sunday) it'd have. I didn't watch the gambling show that followed. Tonight is the first night it leads into the NHL so we'll see if there's more NHL coverage tonight.

Last night they simulcast both games of the NBA on TNT doubleheader. Which respectively added 98k & 115k to the average viewership.

I've been speculating the reason the Kings-Blues game isn't also simulcast tonight is because it's non-exclusive. truTV starts simulcast with the late game (Caps-Oilers) and also simulcasts NHL on TNT postgame show.

Yup, more NHL tonight on "TNT Sports Tonight." Jackie Redmond is on now as guest. And before she came on was two HL packages (FLA-DAL & VGK-SEA.)

Figured it'd be the case when this was all announced last week, that it'd focus on sports they have the rights to. Nothing special but it's cheap shoulder programming and covering the NHL.

The interest in Pittsburgh is lacking big now. Hard to count on them for big national numbers now.

Couldn't sell out this Rangers game... 17,000+ of 18,000+...or against Ovechkin earlier in week or Detroit last night.

Should see a big drop in attendance, and their local and national ratings, next year, and even more when Crosby retires.
