Hope he can keep the iron man streak going and get another contract after next season. If so, he'll pass Howe for most NHL games played 29 games into the 20-21 season.

He's missed 116 games due to lockouts too.

Yep, he would've been able to pass Howe this season if not for the lockouts. I say it all the time, but it's a damn shame guys like Patty and Jumbo missed 1.5 years of their prime.

If not for the lockout, thornton could realistically be closer to 1600 points then 1500 points. Point per game would bring him to about 1550 points.

If it weren't for the lockouts and the recent injuries Jumbo could have made it to top 5 assists all time. But he's not one of the greatest 100 players because a sample size of 160 playoff games outweigh 1500+ games.

I would never project injuries and say what ifs. That is part of the game.

I am pretty sure Patty retires a Shark. It may be a 1-day contract just to retire or whatever but it will happen.
