So Marchand beats out Ovechkin to take 12th spot many people arguing should have gone MUCH sooner. Great offensive numbers COUPLED with fantastic defensive game, and pesty aggresive play makes him one of the elite players of the game. ANyways 13 is next, Ovechkin, Pettersson, Pastrnak among other still good options coming up

Sadly this series of polls seems very centered on points.

Took Aho, considered ROR, Bergeron, Kopitar
Please factor EVERYTHING in it when selecting your choice. Could be more what you expect for next season, the next decade, their record, projection, etc. Basically everything

With Crosby at 5 and Malkin at 7, OV is already way too low considering he's been better than both of them the last 3 playoffs and 2/3 last regular seasons.

I get the playoff argument, especially against Malkin.

But, what realistic argument does Ovi have over Crosby or Malkin over the last 3 regular seasons?

Even when factoring Malkin’s pathetic 18-19 and Sid’s injury riddled 19-20, they both have a much better PPG.

Who knew a multiple 50+ goal scorer can fall out of the top 10.

Would have most likely hit 50 goals again last season if not for corona.

Ovechkin is already too low and a few less secondaries because of bad coaching and a decade worse PP doesn't change that he's still great.

Okay but aho doesn’t have the defensive impact of those other guys. So outside of offense why exactly are you picking aho?

Aho really drives play at ES and is a very good 200 foot player.

I agree he is a great play driver but he is actually kinda sub-par in his own zone (despite the canes being a very solid team at controlling chances against)

Pasta with 2.5 times the assists Ovie has with as many goals, yet Ovie leads.

No its not because of the line.
There are people who unironically still think Ovi is a top 5 forward or even close to it.

If I want someone to score goals he is good at it. If I want to win hockey games there are still a number of guys that should be going before him in this poll series.

Looks like too many are factoring in past seasons as well here.

Ovi isn't even close to being a top 20 forward going into next season but yet he still leads this poll....complete joke really.

today, ie. present

not career, not past 5 years, not past 3 years

hes lost a huge step. Accept it.

Present? Ok, so why is Crosby 5th? He was injured in the regular season and missed the playoffs. But of course you had no problem voting for him.

Past seasons are the only reason why Crosby and Malkin got voted where they did.

You agree on playoffs so that's good.

Crosby was injured 2/3 last regular seasons so by default that means OV had the better season. PPG doesn't mean anything when you're sitting at home.

OV was better than Malkin in 18/19, Malkin was better this year. 17/18 can be argued either way. But then when you add in playoffs OV moves ahead. I'm not saying Crosby and Malkin shouldn't be top 10 btw, I'm just saying OV is too low compared to them.
