Filtering out some of the bad mock drafts, the good ones look like this for Larkin:

Button: 14th
Pronman: 22nd
FC: 12th

It really comes down to preference after around pick 8. He could go anywhere in the bottom 2/3rds of the round really. Just reading some today I'm convinced they're going to try and hit with a skilled bigger guy. Still think it's Tuch or Scherbak if they stay at 15. Tuch has grown on me and as I've said for a couple months now, whoever gets Scherbak will end up really happy where they did.

Yeah, I do feel like the Wings will take Larkin. Was going to mention that the other day. Seems like a very Tyler Wright type of pick.

I'd prefer to go with another guy, but they don't pay me to evaluate talent.

Love that opening post...good resources. I'll have to follow the draft on my phone.

Safe bet that they're coming away with a forward tonight if they don't trade the pick away.

Wings make a trade. But it's to move up instead of down

I like it.

I'm going to say the Wings trade their 1st round pick for the rights to Boyle. :sarcasm:

In all seriousness, I feel like the Wings just make a bunch of savvy draft picks like always. Maybe move back if their top guy gets plucked. Sorry, no bold predictions here. I'm guessing they wait until free agency settles before they swing a big move.

Wings are kinda boring lately, but hey, loaded with prospects due to boring drafts.

i am 99% sure we will not be walking up to the podium to select 15th overall

either will happen
1) we trade back to somewhere in the 20's and add a 2nd rounder
or and better yet
2) we have moved the pick for a high quality roster player along with tatar and some other elements

I wish Ho-Sang wasn't so weird. Seems like the perfect player to add the the cupboard otherwise.

Would be happy with Tuch or Milano, for sure.

This team isn't one "quality roster player" away from even being remotely close to being a contender, so I really don't like the option 2.

I think that would be the smart thing to do if there's nothing appealing at 15. In fact, if none of the following is available I would go right ahead and trade down:

Ekblad
Reinhart
Bennett
Draisaitl
Ritchie
Dal Colle
Nylander
Ehlers
Fleury
Virtanen
Fabbri

Not a huge fan of any of the other guys, I mean there's some good talent but we could likely grab just as good talent somewhere in the 20's and also add a 2nd rounder on top.

of course its not

its one quality roster player plus a healthy datsyuk and zetterberg and alffie plus a contd developmnent of nyquist, sheahan, dekeyser and jurco plus a rebound year from howard to being AS GOOD as the 2013-2014 NYR

and thats all we have to do, be as good as the NYR as they're at moment the BEST team in the east given where they finsihed the season(ie, scf finalists)

Can't wait to be there tonight and tomorrow.

I hope we make a trade that's not just the annual trade down in the draft.

I'm half-expecting this, to be honest. I think a trade is going to come out of left field and surprise us.

If recent times are any indication, the Wings will go for another Youtube sensation (eg: Sheahan, Jurco, Athanasiou, etc.)

Welcome to the Wings, Sonny Milano

I would be really curious to know what Hakan's opinion of Adrian Kempe is.

By all accounts he has the size, tools, and work ethic to be a good prospect.

So who's going to be this year's "Cam Fowler"? A highly rated prospect that just falls way lower than expected.

And now, Artie Pie, with Artie in the sky!

I'll be at this draft, I'm your eyes and ears, folks. I'll find Ken Holland and I will get the stories straight.
