Devils have advantage over Avs due to a vast difference in travel in the first three rounds.

I went with a Boston-Edmonton final.

I think the west is pretty open. Colorado isn’t the same team as last year - no Kadri, no Landeskog, no Makar, less depth overall. I don’t have a ton of faith in Vegas going far with their goalies. I think teams like Dallas and Edmonton have better rosters. McDavid seems like he’s on a mission plus they’ve got some decent depth now they didn’t have in previous years, so I think that’s who’s gonna take advantage on that side of the bracket.

In the East, I think Tampa is similar to Colorado but even worse off compared to previous years. I don’t think they’ve adequately replaced the multitude of role players who were critical components in the playoffs. Plus all these years of long playoff runs have to catch up to them at some point. If ever there was a time for Toronto to finally get past them, this is it. That being said, it’s hard to see them getting past Boston, but if they get over that first round jump, it’s certainly possibly they can take that momentum far. I don’t think the metro is overcoming the Atlantic in any combination - Carolina once again seems to lack enough firepower up front, and the devils lack the discipline that a team like Toronto or Boston has in their own end. I don’t consider anyone else in the East a legit contender.

I've never done one before, but every year I do predict the winner series by series.

There's been a couple of years where I got like all but one series right and then there's been some where I went about 50%.

I remember in the Vegas expansion/SCF year I picked them to lose every round, until the SCF, which I picked them to beat Washington.

I also picked Washington to lose every round that year, even including round one to the Blue Jackets.

And then there's sometimes 8 minutes into the first game of a series where I immediately ''Wait, why again did I pick Florida to beat Tampa in this series?'' like last year.

The 2015 series I was mostly perfect. Not on exactly the number of games in each series, but just the winner. My only whiff the entire playoffs was when I picked Winnipeg to beat Anaheim in round one. Anaheim swept Winnipeg in round one.

I like Edmonton to come out of the west.

Been saving it all year long. They got to the WCF last year.

Connor McDavid WILL WIN the Stanley Cup, just like Ovechkin finally did, who was already about 7 years older than McDavid is now when he finally won.

It’s just a matter of when, not if. I think there’s a better chance his career ends in the next couple of years than him playing in the league another 12-15 years and not winning at least one cup along the way.

And I don’t think his career is ending in the new couple of years either.

LA has also been my dark horse for quite some time, but now they get Edmonton for all their troubles, who they really needed to at least avoid this early.

LA is a good team and probably a bit underrated. Not so good in goal, but that's rough that they get Edmonton this soon.

My East dark horse is a team that I thought wouldn't make the playoffs 2 months ago and that's the Islanders. They're not a great team, but Sorokin is better than more than half of the East playoff teams goalies.

Avoiding Boston in the first round and Carolina helping them out by beating Florida on the last night of the regular season was HUGE for them. I don't think too many people would be surprised if they take down Carolina. Carolina isn't all that skilled, but the only time they would have the edge in this goalie matchup is about 4-5 years ago when Freddie was still elite and didn't have 3 mediocre seasons in 4 years and Sorokin had never played a game in North America.

I'd like to say Carolina wins that series, but I'm not that confident they do.

And look, I want more than anything to pick the Leafs over Tampa this year.

Tampa has gotta be out of gas, and they're clearly not as good as the last 3 teams they had to begin with. They've also been a bit like Jets-lite the last couple of months. They've had quite a few blowouts, even with Vasilevskiy in there, though not quite as severe. Pittsburgh even blew them up a couple times in a week and probably don't know how they missed the playoffs in the end.

This is being set up for anything less than a Toronto win in this series, the city will riot Vancouver style and guys will be fired upstairs and possibly behind the bench in Toronto for losing this series.

This is gonna really be like ''Caps can't get out of the second round'' from 6-15 years ago, only they can't get out of the first round the last 7 years.

I've made it a policy since the pathetic first round of 2021 (Jack Campbell struck BIG TIME and got pimp slapped by Carey Price the last 3 games) loss to Montreal that I ain't picking Toronto to win a round again until they win one. After really thinking they were gonna win that year and I may have even picked them before that year too. I know I did against Columbus in the 2020 play-in round.

But if they win this time, I'm gonna regret not picking them and be like ''Well, see I told you they should win that, but yet I picked Tampa because of Toronto's reputation'' and I do pick them to win, I'll be so f***in pissed for allowing myself to be fooled yet again if they lose.

My only prediction I wanna make for the finals is that Boston doesn't win

But they may make the finals and come out of the East.

I'm just saying I think they won't win, but they might.

Last year, I remember saying I don't think Tampa will make the SCF again and then they did. I did pick them to beat Toronto in round one last year, but picked Florida to beat them (terrible and embarrassing whiff on my part), but then had them over the Rangers and even Colorado in the SCF.

So Boston could win. I'm not saying they won't, but I wanna they don't win the cup.

Went with the Devils going to Conference Finals and losing to Boston.

I'll look like a genius or a fool pretty early on with the Dallas pick.

This is a fun idea. I haven't done too well at these recently though the first few I ever did were really spot on. Look forward to peaking back at these as we move forward.

Yeah I know I'm voting with my heart here and not with my head.

I think Boston will realistically beat us if we got that far (ECF) but WHAT-IF, man? WHAT...IF?

EDIT : Also I feel that Edmonton's suspect Goaltending will come back to bite them against the Avs.
