Let’s take a wild guess who did this crime. Hint: NOT REAL INDIANS. Hey why not ban the Vikings while we are at it? Let’s ban everything that is masculine and cool.

The defund Chicago Police , Lightfoot resign , Abolish Prisons , etc stuff painted on statue should tell enough

With protests dying out and downtown Chicago + Mayor Lightfoot (She has turned her street into police blockade) hording police from other districts after riots its not surprising to see this type of crime happen elsewhere in city

Impersonating a military member is illegal.

Illegality is a side issue.

Even in a world where it was fully legal, going out in costume as a chaplain -- complete with the Chaplain's Medal for Heroism -- would be so obviously offensive that it doesn't really need to be explained. It's just a tasteless idea on multiple levels.

If that behavior somehow became closely associated with a tailgate scene, you can be damn sure that both the military and the Church would push back on it.

There goes my holloween costume this year.

Next to the medal I was going to have a "HI MY NAME IS: Charlie" sticker

Charlie Chaplain.

Are all fans banned from wearing Native headdresses, or just non Native Americans?

What happens if a Native American shows up wearing a headdress?

Don't say anything at all
The Chicago Blackhawks can restore the space between "Black" and "Hawks" and change their logo to a literal black hawk (as in, the bird).

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Braves of MLB can acquire the rights to the identity of the former NHL team Atlanta Thrashers and use it verbatim: name, colors (with Thrasher Ice Blue now being called Thrasher Sky Blue), and logos (with the hockey stick of the original main logo being changed to a baseball bat).

Atlanta Thrashers - The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database

The four uniform designs used by the NHL team over its short existence would be the basis for alternate uniforms for the baseball team. There would also be Capital Copper and Peachtree Gold alternates.

Plus with my proposal to move the Atlanta MLB franchise into the Continental League as part of a history-based realignment of MLB, it would have the franchise go further in cutting ties with its past as the Braves name would solely be an element of National League history. It would also mean that all of Atlanta's big 4 teams are named after (and use logos based on) birds (Falcons, Hawks).

My guess is that:

1) A Native American would not show up wearing a headdress unless they were there for a cultural program, so this is a non-issue on a practical level.

2) If for some reason it did happen, that person would be asked to follow the same rules as everyone else. If they're not wearing it for its intended purpose but simply to cause a public scene, they're not going to get very far pulling the cultural appreciation card.

Let's not waste time discussing the likelihood of it happening... I'm just interested in what the result would be if it did...

I'm not sure it would be good publicity for the Hawks to deny entry to a Native American who was wearing a headdress...

And legally speaking, it might be akin to a Jew being denied entry because of a yamaka, a Sikh being denied entry because of a turban... or at the very least a Scot being denied entry because of a kilt

Of all your weird realignment posts, this is far and away the weirdest.

That's a fabricated problem. While pious Sikh men are expected to always wear a dastar, in relevant Native American cultures the headdresses are of ceremonial importance and would not be worn to a hockey game any more than an English monarch would wear a crown.

There are only two possibilities:

1) It’s being worn as an authentic expression of identity (e.g. as part of a cultural exhibition) in which case there’s a context around it that would make it a non-issue.

2) It’s being used as a prop to provoke a scene, in which case I don’t see why it would reflect badly on the org for shutting it down.

There’s really not a third option here. No Native American is going to decide that a Blackhawks game is the appropriate place to wear a headdress without falling into category #1 or #2.

So, they would be allowed to wear the headdress in the arena?

I thought we were talking about home games for the Blackhawks...

Right, and in a situation where a Blackhawks home game involves a Native American ceremony (or whatever it is we're talking about) I'm confident they would not kick the tribal representatives out for wearing headdresses.

That would be absurd and I'm honestly not sure where this hypothetical is going.

I'm just asking what would happen if a Native American showed up to watch a Blackhawks game wearing a headdress...

Would they be allowed entry with the headdress?
