You realize Boudreau tied with MT and he had a single point less?

While I agree that MT isn't the cause for our success I feel it's a strange metric to use.

The Jack Adams is a weird trophy because it rewards teams who surprise more so than teams who are consistently good.

If Hartley does the exact same thing next year, he's not even a finalist. It's a weird trophy for sure.

Once again though, I agree with you, I just find the voting for this trophy weird in general.

Maurice was 4th, Cooper was 8th. So weird lol

Agree with you, strange metric...

I don't know if you read french... But there is an nice article from Marc-André Grondin in www.lapresse.ca... Stephane Waite was interviewed about the trophees won by his "student"... He's really proud...

But there is an important quote saying " I think he doesn't understand how much he is important within the organisation and it's for the best. To think that if he's not there, the Habs have no business around, he doesn't need that, even if it's true..

I don't know for you, but coming for a member of the coaching staff, it can't be ignore...

Habs have some work to do :)

Most of these votes were reasonable to me, if you consider the question: did a given team exceed expectations, and if it did, did the coach have a significant influence on this outcome? This list is in line with that question. Cooper might have placed higher, but Tampa was probably expected to do well based on its talent. The Jets made the playoffs after a coaching change, after years of ineptitude, so Maurice placed high. Meanwhile, the Habs exceed expectations as well, but reviewers almost all ascribed it to goaltending, and almost none at all to coaching. Precisely what LG and I, as well as a few more (some of whom I probably have on ignore lol) have maintained all year.

Claude Noel's inability to manage a team does not make Maurice a better coach of the year candidate than boudreau.

Cooper's line of the triplets weren't studs the year prior. So...It's a weird thing IMO.

For example, 2013, we surprised from 3rd last to a playoff position:

What was MT ranked? 4th How about Boudreau who had a full year in Anaheim? 3rd

Jon Cooper was 3rd last year, 8th this year.

The trophy is more about exceeding expectations than actually doing a good job consistently.

I enjoy talking hockey with people here at work

Someone said this morning that MT should've been nominated for the JA that way we could show the league how great our QC coach are with 4 of them in nomination... Vignault, Therrien, Laviolette & Hartley.... Jesus...
