I hate McDaniels too, but that series had nothing to do with him.

Cooks had a 15 yard gain and Brady threw it at his feet. Gronk had a first down in his hands and dropped it.

3rd down was just well defended.

That drive is on execution, not coaching.

Execution yes, but on 3rd down it's still only down field. Of course they blitzed, and of course it's defended well because of it. Throw to white/Lewis out of the backfield probably gets them the first, but at least moves them a few yards closer for the FG try.
