A couple of playoff clinching scenarios I wasn't even looking at or for on Monday:
- Minnesota clinches the NFC North with a win and a Detroit loss (this one I had indirectly....if 3 teams are eliminated from divison contention, the other must have clinched lol)
- Philadelphia clinches a wild card spot with a win, WSH loss, SEA loss, and SF loss.

As a Vikings fan, I don't know what's more strange, that we can clinch the first week of December, or that it's the Lions, not the Packers, in 2nd.

And the Lions can cheer for wins every game because it's the Rams' pick that is their meal ticket.

That's right, the defending Super Bowl champions are handing a higher pick to the Lions at the moment than the Lions will receive themselves.

This is one f***ed up year.

Similar to how everyone thought the Seahawks would be tanking this year. But them competing for a playoff spot hasn't been in vain with their pick from the Broncos being a top 5 one as of now.

That trade is the best thing to happen to the Seahawks since 2014. What a boost.

The tie for the Giants and Washington was quite good for both teams - neither team had a good conference record in comparison to their competitors (well, one competitor unless Detroit makes a run) for the wild card spots, so it acts more as a win. Washington being on the bye this week will take care of the games played difference between them and Seattle/NY Giants.

AFTER WEEK 13: (f - Eliminated from first round bye contention, d- Eliminated from division contention)
1. Philadelphia - 11-1
2. Minnesota - 10-2
3. San Francisco - 8-4 (Leads NFC West)
4. Tampa Bay - 6-6 (Leads NFC South)
5. Dallas - 9-3
6. NY Giants - 7-4-1
7. Seattle - 7-5
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. Washington - 7-5-1
9. d-Detroit - 5-7
10. Atlanta - 5-8 (Holds strength of victory tiebreaker over GB)
11. df-Green Bay - 5-8 (ARZ is eliminated from 3-way tiebreaker by conference record, holds Strength of Victory tiebreaker over CAR. NO eliminated from tiebreaker by CAR))
12. f-Arizona - 4-8 (Owns H2H tiebreaker over CAR)
13. f-Carolina - 4-8
14. f-New Orleans - 4-9
15. df-Los Angeles - 3-9
ELIMINATED: Chicago

I know playoff Brady is a thing but the Cowboys are going to steamroll the Bucs in the playoffs.

How in f*** hell is that porous OL going to contain Dallas' front seven?

Seahawks have H2H tiebreaker over Lions. IF Seahawks go 2-2 over last 4 games, Lions would need to win out to leap them. If Lions go 3-1 they would need 2 of the teams to go 1-3.

Winner of next weeks Commanders-Giants game is virtually locked in. Giants definitly have the tougher final stretch.

I wouldn't say that. If the winner of that game loses their last 3, they're still going to be in trouble. And both will be underdogs in 2 of their final 3 games, so all it would take is one upset. Seattle and Detroit could still easily finish ahead of both the Giants and the Commanders in that scenario just by beating teams they should beat.

Philly's win makes them the first team officially in the playoffs, as well as eliminates both Washington and the Giants from NFC East contention, while Detroit continues to make a run. Record wise the Vikings were the toughest team the Lions had left, although up next is a game with the Jets in a matchup of teams currently on the outside looking in. Carolina, of all teams, controls their destiny to win the NFC South (along with Tampa) after Tampa's loss and their win over Seattle.

Not too much drama in the NFC. Maybe if GB can top Miami next week we can have some intrigue. I mean, sure, the NFC South is kinda interesting? But it sucks.

Hasn't Minnesota already clinched the North? Lions have 7 losses and there's no path that could take the Vikings to 7 losses.

Can you change the coverage of the 49ers to what they need to do to get the second seed. You have them as "Controlling their own destiny" for the west, but they already won the west.

TB ends things with a win be Carolina. If Carolina wins, then it gets interesting with their tie breakers.

NYG and Wash have difficult games to close the season vs Phi and Dal but unlikely those 2 have anything to play for as the 1 seed and the WC1 spots could be locked up in week 17. Be interesting if pho and Dal sit a few starters.

Seattle closes vs the Jet and Rams at home.

Lions close vs the Bears and Packers.

Packers close vs Min and Lions.

Wash is 1/2 game up on the Packers, Seahawks and Lions. I think they hold onto their spot against a Browns team who's been eliminated and the Cowboys will likely be resting their starters the final week. Plus both games are at home.

If Wash does lose a game, I think the Seahawks have the best chance due to their easy schedule at home. Technically the Packers control their own destiny with another Wash loss, but they play 2 tossup games at home, in contrast to the 2 easier ones in Seattle. But the Packers would have the next best chance after the Seahawks, while the Lions have the toughest road of the 3. Have to win out, including a week 18 game in GB, and hope Seattle loses one of their final 2 games.

Brian Daboll getting this injury riddled Giants team to a position where they can clinch a playoff spot before the last week of the season with a mere win against a dreadful tanking Colts team...is nothing short of miraculous.

The tough part for him is that when you exceed expectations in NY...you need to be really good at holding your boat steady, my man.
