Bojangles Parking Lot
Posted this over on BoH but here's what it looks like. Interestingly, from last season, the non-inclusion of tax makes it look like the prices of full season tickets dropped while the prices for 22 and 11 game plans have stayed constant. Also, the Pure Hockey Pricing plan continues for this season although they removed one section from it (Lower Level South) and replaced it with Club Select.

Accounting for tax and parking, my seats in the Shoot Twice Goal Zone went up $128.89 from last season. That includes a $98.16 increase in the cost of our tickets and a $30.00 increase in parking.

If I’m counting this up correctly, a theoretical $30 ticket would carry an additional $2.18 tax, then when re-sold through Ticketmaster would incur a $7 convenience fee plus a $4 facility fee, plus a delivery fee if requested.

So in that case, original buyers are now taking a $13 hit on the value of a $30 ticket if they choose to put it up for sale. This is a killer for the availability of cheap resale tix, which is probably by design.

I think it is pretty clear Gardiner's back is never going to be right (giving him the benefit of the doubt that he is trying his best, being a good soldier through some pain). His movement on the first goal looked like someone that can't turn properly at all. Any chance we can convince him to have that surgery now for his own good and LTIR him? call up Bean until Vatanen is healthy.

for his good. yeah.

Funny schedule. Weekend home and away back-to-backs coming up en galore. Now four days off and then four games a week for the rest of the season. Game every other day and two on the weekends.

If you like Hurricanes hockey, good for you. If you don't like Hurricanes hockey, it's a prime chance to work up your tolerance.

Dzingel in his last 21 games (since 3 Jan): 0 G, 4 A.
Niederreiter since 31 Dec: 4 G, 2 A. In 23 GP.
Staal since 31 Dec - 24 GP, 3 G, 6 A.
Gardiner with 1 goal since 5th Dec...
Martinook without goal since 10th Dec.
McGinn with 3 G in 2020...

If true, I'd call Ottawa about a late pick for Anderson if I'm the Borg.

I know he can't help in the playoffs after the deadline, but he can still help them get into the playoffs.
I don’t think Dorion would do Anderson like that. I don’t think. He’s been a good soldier for a long time and I think he’s just done playing after this season, and very content with his career.

You might change his mind if it was a 2nd but there’s no chance of that happening.

Aho with Nino, Teuvo; Staal with Dzingel, Williams; Trocheck with Svech, Necas; Martinook with McGinn, Foegele.

Having 2 4th lines worked before.....

I like Svech-Trocheck-Necas to compliment the top line. I'd probably rather see Nino-Aho-Williams and Svech-Trocheck-TT to limit Necas's defensive vulnerability but that leaves Necas without a meaningful spot as he won't play with Staal and doesn't belong on the 4th.

Apparently, he couldn't.

That's "reserve list" though, so the unsigned people the team holds the rights to. Graig Andersen on the other hand is currently signed to play in the NHL and should be allowed to continue play, though not eligible to play for the new team in the playoffs.

(Unsigned RFAs you obviously can't sign after Dec 1, so they can't play either way.)

I suspect I may be wrong here though

The reserve list includes anyone under contract as well. See Article 1 - Definitions.

CapFriendly was more clear about it earlier that week:

Yeah I'm wrong:

"Reserve List" means the list of all Players to whom a Club has rights including all Unsigned Draft Choices, all Players signed to an SPC (whether or not currently playing in the NHL), and all Players who have signed an SPC but who have subsequently been returned to Juniors. A Club may have on its Reserve List, at any one time, not more than 90 Players, which shall include the following:

Signed players too are on the reserve list. But funny that the playoffs eligibility is made such a big point.

Interesting. I thought it used to be that the NHL was like MLB in that you could continue to trade, but players were not post-season eligible. Was that changed in a recent CBA?

I don't believe it's a CBA provision. In a quick search, it's not explicitly stated anywhere. It might be something that's in the more private NHL by-laws.

Going back to the trade logs for the period between the lockouts, no player was traded after the deadline and played in the NHL that year. It must not have changed.

Yeah, if that's the case that's a recent change. Must be a bylaws thing.

How does the Canes’ Justin Williams rate his comeback? - Chip Alexander, N&O

And Williams’ report card on himself?
“It’s been fine,” he said. “I feel like myself out there. I mean I wish I could be able to contribute a little more offensively but I know if I keep pushing and I keep trying and I keep working those things will come.
“I need to be more of an impact offensively. I know that. And I feel like I can be. I feel fine on the ice. It’s just a matter of getting more chances.”
Asked if the comeback, at age 38, was tougher than he expected, Williams said, “No, about what I expected. Definitely what I expected. Ups and downs and now I’m just looking for an up trend here and I can push that through the playoffs.”
That’s what the Canes want and a big reason Williams returned: another shot at the Stanley Cup playoffs. A year ago, the Canes got their first taste of postseason since 2009, reaching the Eastern Conference finals, and did not want it to be a one-and-done thing.

“I’m confident in our group ... as long as we remember how hard you have to work to get there,” Williams said. “There’s no yellow brick road that you just waltz down to get to the playoffs.”

Sounds like he thinks the playoffs are happening!
