Bojangles Parking Lot
I read today that Nylander is meeting with Dubas in Zurich and they are considering a bridge deal also. Not sure how accurate that is.

In Zurich, Nylander arrives at the fine restaurant. The maitre’d escorts him to a table reserved under the name “Dubas”. He sits, and waits. He fidgets with a fork. Time passes slowly.

In Toronto, Dubas chuckles softly to himself as he drifts off to sleep. He has turned off his phone.

In Zurich, Nylander checks his watch. 20 minutes has passed. He sighs deeply as the maitre’d approaches.

“Pardon, monseiur. A letter has arrived. It came with a message that I should deliver it to this table.”

The postmark is two days old. Inside, there is only a single slip of paper.

There's an article by Dellow on the Athletic about Peters and some of the style changes he's brought to Calgary that I found interesting. I know, some of you are sick of hearing about Calgary, but I liked the charts showing the differences in the Canes this year under Brindamour. Icing the puck a lot more, less strong side faceoff takers, etc. I think the Winnipeg loss can be blamed on a bad icing, but a more aggressive approach is also helping the offense in general. It's interesting to me looking at some of the risk/reward ideas and how different coaches treat things.

Toronto will trade Nylander to Carolina?

The superficial side of the Carolina Hurricanes situation

At least on the surface, the Hurricanes are a perfect trade partner. The team is stacked on the blue line and four deep on the right side with Dougie Hamilton, Brett Pesce, Justin Faulk and Trevor van Riemsdyk. In that regard, the Hurricanes could let go of a right shot defenseman and still be able to fill three slots. In addition, at least if the Hurricanes want to jump start the seemingly accelerating rebuild, the team could use another legitimate scorer or two. So at that high level, a trade with Brett Pesce and William Nylander as the principal components makes sense for both teams.

I get where he's probably coming from. He's only played 1 out of 4 games and had scrubs like Robertson,Renouf, and Carrick playing ahead of him (not that they didn't deserve it, they're solid AHLers, and probably better than him right now, and I'm not even factoring in pairing, role, etc.). But for a young guy, I could see not wanting to stick around for that.
