Nice, but here's the problem. Charlotte is in Hershey for Games 3/4 next Tuesday/Wednesday, which coincides with Games 6/7 of the Canes/Islanders series. I know how scheduling in the playoffs works, and I know it can be tough sometimes, but seriously? I just want to complain a little.

Actually, aside from G5 of Canes/Islanders being Sunday instead of Saturday, Games 4/5/6/7 of Canes/Islanders matches up exactly with Games 1/2/3/4 of Charlotte/Hershey.

BTW, goals scored leaders in the AHL playoffs:

Bean called up. Is it wrong to hope for him to get in some game time even if I think the pairings have more balance with Fleury?

Assuming Slavin & Pesce are split up for the home games there's some potential here for some nice balance in the pairings:

Slavin-Hamilton
deHaan-Faulk
Bean-Pesce

But those are pairings I'd like to see tried in a regular season game, not the playoffs.

I think Jake Bean has made huge strides defensively this season, but I want no part of him in a playoff game this season. Let him continue to develop and add strength over the Summer. Then he can come back and battle for a spot. Right now he's more of an "emergency" call up than Ned is.

Really??? Just because the Canes are up 2-0 in this 2nd Round series they are favored to win the Stanley Cup? That doesn't make much sense at all. There seems to be a lot more hockey to play before the winner.

Considering these stats change day by day, it actually makes the most sense. By being up 2-0, while everyone else is 1-1, at the moment, the Canes are the most likely team to make it to the 3rd round, and thus, the most likely team to make it to the SCF and win the Cup.

That’ll change after tonight’s game, where either the Stars or the Blues will go up 2-1 in their series and then their chances to win the Cup will go up as well.

Knowing that it changes after each days games it does make more sense. There is just a lot more games to play.

Kiss of death?

That's so f-ing unreal it's not even funny. The word "surreal" was created just to describe the 2019 Carolina Hurricanes.

Basically, it all comes down to our overwhelming odds to win our current series. Since we won the first two on the road, the chances of winning this series are very high. No other team has a clear cut path to the conference finals. So if you give every team left a 1-in-8 chance (12.5 percent), we'd have around 25 percent if we take our odds and the Islanders odds added together. Now granted, the Canes aren't assuming a win in this series by any means. But bettors are.

Ok, I know next to nothing about sports gambling, but I'm not going to lie... that seems really high. If I had put money on us at 100/1 (or whatever the odds were at the start of the season), I'd probably try to sell that wager right about now if someone was buying it at anything close to 4/1.

Then I'd probably look for the odds to go back down a bit and get back in, maybe at 6/1 or 7/1.

I'm not saying I don't believe, but it seems way too early to be calling us the odds-on favorites. As crazy as these playoffs have been, there are still some teams out there that are more talented than us.

Also I have heard from the NHL channel that many of the teams have won the road games this year in the playoff.

I mean it'll be like Boston in '09 only they have a better offense and we have a better defense.

Almost worried more about CBJ. 7 games against the Bob. Yuck.

I want no part of Columbus in a playoff series where they're coming off beating Tampa and Boston. That sounds like a great way to end up with a demoralizing loss along with serious injuries that carry over into next season.
