Perhaps. I think Florida is less of a threat to us though, even if they're in our conference. They can't get out of their own way

Only time we’d have to worry about ‘Peg is a cup final. Florida we can run into at any time (playoff format/wild card being what it normally is). I prefer the better pick over worrying about that.

But it’s moot bc I want that top pick!

Best to worst case scenarios:
1. NYR get Laf
2. Minnesota
3. Florida
4. Nashville
5. Canada (in order, Winnipeg, Edmonton/Toronto)
6. Pittsburgh

Should it not be our fate, I will laugh if a Canadian team gets him. Just think of it as a reward for being such amazing hosts and allowing people to enjoy hockey for a couple of months. Eh.

I ran 100 sims in a row like a crazy person because yeah (I did this last year too)... This is what I came up with...

Minnesota - 13 wins
Winnipeg - 17, 8 of the last 20 were them
NYR - 19! Including at 69 (nice) and at one point, four times in a row.
Nashville - 6!, including not once until 27 and then they didn't win between 34 and 70.
Florida - 12
Toronto - 11
Edmonton -11
Pitt - 11

Nashville got shafted hard in my simulations. Winnipeg ran really hot late, Rangers never went more than 10 selections with out landing on #1.

Let that good juju carry over.

Is it as simple as this?

12.5% - #1
25% - #10
62.5% - #11

Yes.

hated giving away Poddubny
acquiring 2020 Lafreniere will no doubt be a better outcome

1. Us (obviously)
2. Wild (Gives us #10)
3. Jets (Gives us #10 but they're in a better spot than the Wild)
4. Preds (Western conference and don't have an embarrassment of riches in star forwards)
5. Oilers (Western conference)
6. Panthers (Out of division and have been basement dwellers for a long time)
7. Leafs (Out of division)
8. Penguins (Put me on suicide watch)

pretty much agree but i'd take Fla sooner than Oil,
we'd get to see him play more often, and,
well, screw the Oil, how many top, top blue-chip guys do they get to audition ....

Last year I refused to watch the lottery and we actually moved up. I’m gonna try that same thing this year

Do I watch tonights lottery in the same place where I was last year when we landed the #2 pick? Or do I have to change it up. We technically didn't win the lottery last year, but it sure felt like it

Edmonton have had like 4 #1 picks in the last decade. Toronto have had one recently. Pittsburgh basically got three on the bounce. The Rangers have effectively never picked first.

We all know what's going to happen...
That we are finally getting one? (*asks in a childish, naive voice*)

Last year I totally forgot about the lottery, I found out about it from this board

Lol, same. I had completely forgotten about it and only realized the lottery happened when I came on here and saw a poll thread about who the Rangers should take at #2 and quickly jumped out of my seat in excitement.

Maybe I'll try that again this year.
