New Line combos and roster thread

I’d like to see:

1st line: Ritchie - Matthews - Nylander
I think we should break up Matthews/Marner, both are line carrying talents. Matthews/Nylander play a beautiful cycle game, having a big boy like Ritchie causing havoc along the boards would probably be a good compliment.

2nd line: Bunting - Tavares - Marner
Hyman/Tavares/Marner looked great in the past, Bunting is a bit of a poor man’s Hyman. This could be a very strong 2nd line.

3rd line: Kerfoot - Kampf - Kase
2-way line, very strong defensively and brings decent offence. Mikheyev takes Kase’s spot if Kase is injured and/or looks washed. I prefer to leave Kerfoot here vs. moving him into the top 6 - I think our 3rd line needs Kerfoot’s skill/offence more than our top 6 does.

4th line: Mikheyev - Spezza - Simmonds
Given the top 3 lines, this is kind of a no-brainer.

Defense?

I might be wrong, but wasn’t Kerfoot more effective on offense when he played wing on top 6 line?

actually this year when he played on the tavares line they became impreganable defensively but couldn't score (though that seems more a product of poor shooting luck tbh).

This year:

Kerfoot-Tavares-Nylander (95min): 1.99gf60 / 1.22ga60 (3.11xgf60 / 1.88xga60)
Engvall-Kerfoot-Mikheyev (83min): 2.83gf60 / 4.35ga60 (2.28xgf60 / 2.32xga60)
Thornton-Kerfoot-Spezza (79min): 3.16gf60 / 4.51ga60 (2.48xgf60 / 3.43xga60)
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Simmonds (59min): 0.00gf60 / 1.03ga60 (2.13xgf60 / 1.51xga60)
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Hyman (56min): 2.28gf60 / 0.00ga60 (1.59xgf60 / 1.64xga60)

TBH that line with Tavares and Nylander was pretty much dominant, despite some poor shooting luck.

The Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Simmonds combo was actually pretty good too - very good defensively with some offense too.

Don’t you mean the Mikeyev-Kerfoot-Hyman line, or am I just reading it wrong?

you should check the stats before and after Tavares changed his stick... he finally got his scoring touch back, and maybe even improved with his new curve.
I'm expecting a very good year from him (if he's healthy).

possible lineup:
Ritchie - Matthews - Marner
HoSang/Kase - Tavares - Nylander
Kerfoot - Kampf - Bunting
Mikheyev - Spezza - Simmonds

I'm hoping HoSang puts it all together and puts us into a bad spot where we are forced to keep him
I dont trust Kase to be healthy enough though, but, if he is and HoSang flops, they take the same spot

Ideally, Kerfoot and Mik are traded to open spots for Robertson and some cap flex.

My Pref'd starting lineup:
Robertson - Matthews - Marner
HoSang/Kase - Tavares - Nylander
Ritchie - Kampf - Bunting
Engvall - Spezza - Simmonds

Other than that is cool sire, real cool, the upper one upper cut, but no way sire Ho-Sang is in our lineup. I thought others (lost series) thaught you already bout that there.. ho-sang will never play a game for the great legendary maple leafs. He ain't got the game like spike lee do sire. No way, never did. He ain't bout the competition game. He bout himself. He ain't better than other our players. There are many human beings above ho-sang at this point. he ain't seeing game time sire. Never.

Are you in massive disaggreement with my roster?

Show work? There is information out there. You can see these advanced stats on most NHL sites.

Brodie on the bottom pair seems a little out there. Not sure how Kase ends up on the 2nd line with any recent analytics.

Ok. So you disagree with 2 points? Fine by me. Instead of you giving me an A+ I get a B+. I'll take that.

true, you stated a bunch of numbers. I look at those numbers too, but can't see how you came up with your roster.

Do you really want me to present numbers that show that Matthews should be our top line C, and Kampf as our 4th line C?

I mean, if you're going to say that it's an analytics lineup...then maybe show the analytics?

or not.
