I like what Luke is doing on the PP. Him and Dougie are pretty different as PP QB’s. Dougie has a booming shot, but Luke looks more creative and mobile to me, he also gets his shots through. They bring a different element, but they’re both doing well right now and the PP is rolling. Why mess with that?

What has Luke done to deserve pp1 and what has he done with that ice time besides just pass back and forth to his brother? Dougie has a point in every game. He is an elite offensive defenseman in his prime who lost his spot on the top powerplay to a rookie because that rookie happens to be the younger brother of the best player on this team. This team will be better off in the long run having both hughes bros run their own powerplay.

The way the devils are treating Luke compared to how they treated Larsson couldn’t be more opposite. Imagine if this team gave Adam Larsson the opportunities they are giving Luke Hughes when he was a rookie. Maybe he could have turned out more like hedman than just a defensive defenseman

Jack and bratt get one unit and Hamilton gets the other. Working great so far. Makes each unit more focused on their styles rather than trying to put them all together. Jack and bratt can work seam passes and Hamilton can let bombs loose for tips and rebounds. It’s the last thing to be worried about with how they’ve started so far.

If you use a legitimate streaming services the feed quality is usually really good with a solid internet connection, but there's significant feed delay. Like 30-60 seconds behind the actual game.

If you use "alternate" streams the quality varies wildly.

Agreed. I am typically of the "load up PP1" mindset, but given the assets available to the Devils, I do like their two-PP setup.

It gives two distinct looks to opponents. Harder to gameplan for.

PP1 is pretty loaded up. You could argue Timo over Nico or Toffoli but Nico's faceoffs are nice to have on that unit and so is Toffoli's right shot. Dougie's a better PP player in a vacuum but Luke is looking like the better fit

You and that Dylan fellow who posted this yesterday are stuck in the past. Last and this years team is not the 2013-2020 Devils

I think a lot of other teams would try to make sure Meier and Dougie are on the top unit, rather than Luke or even Toffoli.

They sure are having some bad luck, but they’re still 28th in expected goals for with 14.89.

Even if they were at their exact expected goals for number (14-15 goals), they’d be at the bottom of the league in goals for, around 26th-28th.

With Fubo, I have never been blacked out and live locally. You do have to pay extra for regional sports coverage, but you get all the MSG channels, SNY and even Philly channels if you care to watch different things. NHL Network is included as well. Isn't necessarily cheap, but live sports are all I watch TV for.

Max is what was once HBO Max. This year, they're starting to show TBS and TNT games live. I was already subscribed to it, so finding the TNT games was a pleasant surprise.

I'm concerned MSG will start charging FUBO more for streaming rights with the intent of FUBO dropping MSG entirely and forcing us to subscribe to their own service.

“What has Luke done to deserve PP1” is some incredible stat watching

The Hughes to Hughes puck movement combined with their ability to threaten rapid attacks given their skating creates lanes and opportunities that are allowing that unit to crush it. Yeah their shooting luck will probably collapse a little, but that unit is generating xG (not a perfect measure on the PP, I admit) at approximately DOUBLE the rate of our PP1 last year.

Luke is earning it and more.

The delay sucks to be honest. The GDT kills a lot of the excitement and anticipation because the posts are ahead of what we're watching. I knew Toffoli had the hatty at least 45 seconds before I saw it. :/
