OT: New Board -- How Do I...?

Thread tags are here and they're hideous. I'm not even a UI designer and when I do things with color implications I know to mirror them up with the overall theme of the deliverable. Using different shading, consistent font colors, etc. You can't toss a yellow banner into a red, white and gray themed board unless it's the only contrasting color.

Seems like such a minor thing to complain about (admittedly is), but I absolutely thought the same when I saw them. The overall look right now is just flimsy.

Avatars are maxed at 117x117.

Aside from that, the obvious worst part graphically, even aside from the white space, the lack of differentiating between quotes and posts with colour, the posted user (and why does a post need to have its poster in the footer?) and timestamp at the bottom of the post, the sidebar at the left with the avatar and the poster's detail is too small for anyone with a username that's more than twelve characters across:

So, I actually did reach out to my IT department to see if they could allow the new site. He said he had to reach out to the IT manager to get it past the firewall so i said forget it. Tried it today...and it worked! I'm elated.

On a positive note, I do like that you can click the last page (post) of a thread without having to go into it first.

More borders/separation would be nice but I think I'll get used to it.

The colors for the thread tags (am I say that right- the highlighter yellow for "confirmed with links" for example) are terrible. Its like a 90s paintbrush program threw up all over the place.

The five things that annoy me the most with the new board in other of annoyance:

1. The blue Sportsbook toolbar that remains at the top of each page which hides all or part of the post when I enter a thread using the the "First unread message" button. It forces me to scroll up every time so I can see the first post then scroll back down to the next ones. Extremely annoying.

2. Borders separators between post are too subtle which makes it hard to dee the beginning and end of a post block.

3. Quotes having the same background color as regular posts. Very confusing.

4. Not able to hide avatars. This will shrink the size of each post by quite a bit and reduce the amount of scrolling.

5. No longer able to ignore threads.

I'm sure by now HF gurus have seen all our complaints so it would be nice to have feedback from them to let us know what fixes they are currently working on and possibly a schedule to put in place. Right now I have no idea if the issues I have with this new board will ever be addressed or when.

A few days ago somebody (Avs44?) showed us how to get rid of the white space on the right. Does anybody know how to revert back to showing it. I want to check something out but I can't figure out how to do it as the button is no longer showing.

Just go back to the main page of HF, and on the right top corner there should be a 3 line icon, that's how you turn it on and off.

Confirmed with link is now green but Rumor is yellow. The tags as a whole are still ugly, but what can you do.

I for one love HFBoards' transparent and informative support style which makes information like this readily available to all users in real time alongside an allowance for meaningful feedback.

If I hover over my pic in the top right corner, a drop-down box appears. Signature is an option in that list...


EDIT: In Preferences, there's an option to not see Signatures. Did you turn that off?

That's where I initially changed my signature after the change over, but now the option is gone. I have it turned on so I can see signatures. Here is what that preferences options look like to me. https://i.imgur.com/vGAokho.jpg?1

Is my signature showing up to everyone else? Are purple names the new indication of paid members? Are signatures still something that only paid members get and I just broke it?

EDIT: By "paid members" I meant sponsors.

The only big change from the theme is some of you having purple names. Which I thought indicated sponsorship, but I guess not. Preferences stays the same with it on or off.

I see people's signatures on all of their posts instead of once per page too.

This is all really odd.
I just want to be able to edit it or disable my own. I set that signature as a test with the intention of editing it. ugh.
