at some point the big 10 has to ask themselves wtf they are doing by keeping them and not a program like temple.
They suck at football, but they are still a large state school with lots of research dollars.

Being an AAU school, plus some semblance of something something tv has a lot more to do with their inclusion into the B1G than just football.

But yeah, Rutger does suck, but Temple being in the B1G is just a cute pipe dream.

It’s not like Rutgers or Maryland have high ceilings in football in terms of on the field success anyway. The latter at least adds some value in basketball as far as the two big money making sports go.

So it was always a cash grab adding those two with the timing of their tv deal being up for a new contract around that time.

I didn't know Bob Stoops is going to be a coach and GM in the XFL.

When Stoops resigned from OU, he stated, paraphrasing, that he was through with coaching. Money changed Stoops mind obviously. Looks like the Air Raid offense will be run with Hal Mumme as his OC.

There were rumors that Auburn boosters were trying to get him but Gus’ buyout was just too much. Perhaps he could be back at a big job sooner than later.

I do think he was getting nudged out some at Oklahoma despite his comments. They had a hot shot upcoming coach in Riley & he was getting pretty hammered by the media for Mixon & other issues with players hitting females before he left.

Maybe Stoops needed a few years off to recharge the batteries. The XFL gig could just be a test run to find out if he wants to jump back in again.

If Stoops did come back, I could see him coaching at Iowa. Less stress than the OU or an SEC job. Stoops played at Iowa and would have been the Hawkeyes coach in 1999 had the search committee not wasted time preparing a contract offer. I know Ferentz has that ridiculous contract, but he could be moved to an office in the athletic department.

A University of Alabama freshman is accused of calling in a bomb threat at LSU's Tiger Stadium during the LSU-Florida game Saturday night.

Connor Bruce Croll, 19, of Crozet, Virginia, was arrested and jailed Sunday as a "fugitive from justice." He faces unspecified charges in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

According to a police affidavit obtained by WBRZ in Baton Rouge, Croll told police that he called in a bomb threat during the Tigers' 42-28 win because a friend was "on the verge of losing a large bet."

I still associate Musburger as the host of The NFL Today on CBS to this day. Not that Musburger wasn't a fine announcer in his own right, but Jackson will always be the voice of college football.

Fun fact about the late Dick Enberg was that he supposedly hated college football.
