I feel like Morey is going to try to hold out and then end up having to deal him for pennies within a moments of the season starting.

In case you didn't know, Kyrie Irving is f***ing crazy

The NBA's Anti-Vaxxers Are Trying to Push Around the League--And It's Working

"Irving recently started following and liking Instagram posts from a conspiracy theorist who claims that “secret societies” are implanting vaccines in a plot to connect Black people to a master computer for “a plan of Satan.”"

Glad the PA is showing support for poor Kyrie. :sarcasm:

If he misses every game in Brooklyn this season (including preseason games), plus the two regular-season games against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, it would cost him north of $17 million.

But the players' association, sources said, has stressed it does not believe that is necessarily the case, something executive director Michele Roberts said publicly to the New York Daily News earlier this week.

"They've been reporting that we've agreed that if a player who was not able to play because of his non-vaccination status, they could be docked [pay]," Roberts said. "We did not agree. The league's position is that they can. We'll see."

Why is Kyrie allowed to push the organization around like this?

No half measures shit. By being unvaccinated he's still putting the people around him at risk (remember, the vaccine doesn't outright stop transmission but it does make it a hell of a lot harder to do serious damage) including his teammates. I'd be absolutely fuming if i was Kevin Durant or James Harden.

The Nets pay you to be in that lineup every night. Don't like the rules? Then f*** off and retire you clown.

Celtics fans were right all long when they called this dude a lunatic.

Didn't Sixers want nothing to do with Ben

Imagine the mentality to return even after Doc and embiid threw you under the bus

they just need to bench him indefinitely without pay. back him into a corner

he'll either change his mind or he'll sit out the season. unless they think having him play less than half of the season is a good idea

Sounds like Durant is done with his shit too.

Didn't say him by name but it's pretty obvious who he's referring to in his words to Andrews.

Can understand why him or Harden doesn't want to put him on blast in public since they are still a team, after all.

Is either that or walk away from $8 million (for now).

It came out last week that his contract stipulates he gets $8,000,000 when pre season starts and the Sixers said they'll hold it in an account and deduct all fines he earns by not showing up from it. Thats not including all the other salary he'd miss out on during the season.

Nevermind his value is an all time low so probably best to play well and hope a team is willing to pay the price

Who would have predicted Ben Simmons was more likely to be on the court in October than Kyrie?

Until last year the young teams choked in the playoffs. Can they win a ring again? Can the vet teams such as the Lakers and Nets stay healthy and win another ring? It will be a fascinating season.

When the 76ers tanked for Embiid and Simmons I said they're building a losing culture and predicted they would never win a ring with those 2. It's interesting that Doc called out Simmons, because since the 08-09 season Doc has been one of the worst playoff coaches in NBA history. He's had tons of talent with the Celtics, Clippers, and 76ers, won many regular season games, but always finds a way to choke in the playoffs.

"Of the 13 teams to come back from a 3-1 playoff deficit in NBA history, Rivers has been on the losing side three different times in three different cities" Doc Rivers’ history of playoff collapses, explained - SBNation.com

Glad to see the Nets stand their ground. Either you're here full time, or you're not here at all. Simple.

Sounds like Durant and Harden had enough.

Marks made the smart move of coming out and saying it was his and Tsai's call. Takes the heat off of his players and it makes Kyrie look like a bigger clown

By the look of it, Kyrie played himself taking a siesta last season too. That had Tsai pissed off already. The Nets are 100% right with this. Even leaving aside the public health angle, none of this "part-time player" crap. You let it slide now, he has you by the balls forever. There was no end-game with that approach, anyway. You get him on the road for the season and then what? He's missing for half the playoffs and you need to re-arrange the deck every 3 days? Nope.
