Carmelo and Nash - Both kind of overhyped names, though still good players.

Lemieux/Lebron - power/speed/skills

Howe/Kareem - strong longevity

Crosby/Duncan - high intangibles

Ovechkin/Curry - great shooting

There are quite a few similarities between Lemieux and Olajuwon

Both were drafted 1st overall in '84

Both won back-to-back championships in the early-to-mid '90's

Both are a 2x Finals MVP/Conn Smythe winner

Both had moves for days, and are considered the most offensively skilled bigmen to ever play in their respective sports

for about thirty second i was like, yeah why didn't i ever think of that? and then i was like, oh right, dream was one of the greatest defensive players of all time.

Likely outside the OP's intended request but in the late 1980s, the Flyers and Sixers did a light-hearted photo shoot with Derrick Smith (hockey) and Derek Smith (basketball) -- similar names, same city/building -- both wearing their counterpart's jersey and gear.
