I've read it 3 times and I still don't see or get why they are doing this. We better not see this crap idea in the NHL some day.

But as mentioned, I’d be annoyed at my team participating, would be pissed if we lost a guy to injury to it, and wouldn’t care at all if we won the dumb thing.

It’s because the tournament games are regular season games. At the end of it, 2 teams will play an 83rd game.

They should include the G League in the Tournament. Getting to see a G League team upset a tanking NBA team would be endlessly entertaining.
