Turner has an 80 speed tool, good doubles/gap hitter who will probably top out at about 10-12 homers a year. Great pickup as we are weak organizationally at SS. Also probably means Desmond isn't getting traded this offseason.

Ross has a good fastball, was a projected #3 starter, brother is Tyson Ross.

We got a very nice deal.

19-6.

It's scary to think what they'd be with Durant, in a watered down east.....if that ever came to pass. Might win 65+. Odds on East finals winners. Heck, they could win this year, depending on home court.

Fun team. Remind me of Caps from 08-09.

Wiz should spend a few hours shooting free throws today.

The Redskins are the only losers in this town.

Nationals, Wizards, and Capitals all look good. It's ironic that we have to watch the Redskins struggle week after week while the Caps have had a hot December and Holtby is playing well.

Man, it's really a 4 horse race in the East.

1. Toronto: 24-7 (8-2 L10)
2. Atlanta: 22-8 (8-2 L10)
3. Washington: 22-8 (8-2 L10)
4. Chicago: 22-9 (9-1 L10)

Everyone keeps winning. Will be real easy to lose ground if we flame out on this western road trip. Last night's win was huge.

Can't count out Cleveland. Man it would suck to have to play either them or Chicago in the first round.

Best playoff scenarios are where the Wiz don't play either, or perhaps 1 of those squads. God forbid having to somehow play both.

Getting a top 3 seed is paramount this year, in the East.

Yup. Right now we have Milwaukee while Chicago and Cleveland would play in round one. Absolutely need that top 3.

Chicago and Cleveland being 4/5 would be delicious to a Wiz fan. Let them beat each other up, and we can play some lower seed round one.

Then the 4/5 winner can play Tor as a #1, and we can play Hotlanta. Where they probably wont fill the arena even for the Conference Semi's.

All that said, wont happen. One of the current top 3 will fade...maybe even 2. Hopefully wont be DC

I mean, yes, you're right.... but should we talk about potential Redskins draft picks instead?

Talk about whatever you want to but when the current 2nd, 3rd, and 4th seeds are separated by half a game those projected matchups are likely to change every time one of those 3 teams plays and since they are only about 30 games into an 82 game season that is likely to be a lot.

I don't know, talk about who matches up well with who, who you want to play and don't want to play. Current matchups just seems dumb to me at this time but whatever.

It's a simple hypothetical discussion. There are 5, maybe 6 teams will contend to take the East: Toronto, Atlanta, Cleveland, Washington, Chicago, and Miami as a long shot. Getting in the top 3 means you avoid one of the best teams in the Conference in the first round. Pretty simple.

Might be a tad bit early to be thinking of projected playoff matchups IMO...

Not really. It's not like years past where we didn't know if the Wiz would make the playoffs. They will, barring a catastrophic run of injuries.

So it's always a good time to check out who is doing what. East is a 5 team conference. That won't change unless someone makes some trades (like NJ, Miami,or maybe NYK). So angling for where to finish matters, even now.

And that's why you give Joe Flacco a $100+ million contract.

Tied with Troy Aikman with 5 straight playoff games with a 100+ QB rating. (second to Joe Montana)

Most road playoff wins (7) by any QB since the merger in 1970.
