I remember when is was young and about to mess myself up completely my mates and I would listen to the Prodigy - Smack My ***** up. We would also request it at clubs but only once do I ever remember a D.J accepting our request. As a child travelling Queensland with my mum in our blue Kombi Van I remember listening to lots and lots of Dire Straits. This has left me with a solid bond with the Knoph. Much to my friends distress when I get drunk and bee line for the C.D Player. Its my house F**kers

I actually got the best of for Valentines day. Ive been learning the intro but my attention span is kind of weak so though I have the cool Am hammerons and **** down pat I havent learnt all the correct pauses and runs. So I can play my own song that rips off Crazy on You but thats about it. Whats that movie that it gets played on? Has that hot blonde bird in a big religous family and the youngest daughter commits sui****. Its in my DVD collection put im too pissed to make a mess I would have to clean

Me too.

Rush, Metallica, Sabbath, The Beatles, Queen and Journey are others that I listen to pretty regularly.

The band of horses song is pretty nice. Got a fair bit of radio play last year over here. Props to the huge sailor beard.
Talking about Heart and Led Zeppelin, Heart does a rocking cover of Rock n Roll on the album I got for Valentines Day. Another awesome Led Zeppelin cover is by the mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela. Absolutley instrumental but with a classic like Stairway to Heaven and such beautiful classical sound you dont need words. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNc5o9TU0t0

Obviously not everyones flavour but Im really digging this flamenco classical vibe this morning.

well this semester at Central Michigan University I started to work for the music department for their 2 student run radio stations, Modern Rock 91.5 and Mountain 101. It's such an awesome gig, I get CD's from a bunch of bands that probably no one has heard of (or minimally heard of) listen to them and decide if they are good enough or follow the format to put on the station.

about 95% of the music I get is crap, like this week I got CD's from Dum Dum Girls, Femi Kuti, and Chapman & Brockman, I doubt any of this makes it on considering last week we had so much good. Occasionally though I'll get something good and will put it in my ipod. Like this girl from Sweden called "Oh Land" personally she has the best voice I've ever heard.

That's really cool that BoH got radio play. Was it on an independent station? The only time I ever hear it here is on KCRW, the public station from Santa Monica.

I never got into Zeppelin or Heart, but do you like Queen?

A band like that would never get mainstream airplay in the states.

I've worked as a recording engineer on and off for the past 8 years. When I was first starting I interned under an Australian band called "The Living End." They were telling me how shocked they were by the crap music they heard on radio and TV in America.

I listed to variety of genres, though mostly rock, metal, and sometimes folk and some rap.

I just bought my first album on amazon mp3. It was a Miles Davis album. The Birth of Cool.

Bear VS Shark is a pure treasure that released two exceptional albums then split up.

I recommend the songs Ma Jolie, Busses no busses and Catamarn (you can watch a video for Catamaran on youtube) to start off with but you will only be seeing one side to this innovative and exceptional band. Most off what they released was exceptional.

A friend gave me the Mumford and Sons cd for the road and I like it allot. Its good just folkish music, I guess.

The Weakerthans live (it had been out for awhile but I waited till I was on the road before I listened to it and I like it.

Colin Hay's first full length CD for personal reasons.

At the drive in casino in casino out.

I have also been listening to a band called Iron Horse who has done an interesting remake of Modest Mouse music called "Pickin on Modest Mouse". It is so great and a style of music that I don't listen to at all so I like that.

For my teen years I went from The Song Remains The Same double album one week and then heard the historic first playing of "God Save the Queen" on the doctor demento show and never looked back. I play and listen to all different styles of music and try to stay as open minded about it (close minded about music equals death to me) but if I had to pick out one album that completely changed my outlook on life and defined my favorite style of music through the first ten of my rebelous years it would have to be Never Mind the Bullock's.

I am still locked into the rest of my rebelious years and have differed and varied tastes in music today but that was the one that changed things for me.

We have probably one of the best govenment run radio stations in the world. Its Called JJJ. No ads, great comedians for the D.Js and equally great new music. Band of Horses was on high rotation for easily 6 months after the album released here. I have Queen on record. I enjoy it when I hear it but I dont go out of my way to put it on while im around the house. Fast fact, only band where every member has written a number 1 hit

Go Kings Go25, Im not really into my rap/ hip hop. Love myself some MGMT. That song is a big hit here.

fyrescorp, Never heard of Leon Russell. Genre? During my time I have enjoyed the other 3 artists though. Not so much Flogging Molly anymore. I use to listen to it before I went for a skate.

johnjm22- Living End are still quite a big local act here. They can fill a 20 000 seat venue quiet easy. I enjoyed their earlier stuff. Chris Cheney is a wicked guitarist who steals/borrows vibes from some crafty 80's bands like the clash etc. Yea he shreds.

Tonnel. Been listening to Bear verse Shark on Youtube. Great live show. That Mumfords and Sons single was the biggest song in Australia for last year. 4 chords of annoying banjo cr** in my opinion. He isnt even good at banjo. But Australia seemed to think so. Actually it waqsnt last year but the year before. Havent heard it in awhile. Never mind the Bollocks opened my eyes to destruction. I havent heard the Weakerthans either. I will have a look when Im allowed to play music
