Last time he took 500 faceoffs and more in a single season was in 2013-14, so I guess he's 100% a winger.

Depth signing, creating some internal competition on the bottom-6. It's the same each year, and it's usually working good.

Players will play a full season for the 1st time in 3 years, the risk of injury and fatigue will be higher, so it's always good to have more depth. Especially at that price.

Habs are using heavy LTIR to be cap compliant this season, meaning you can't count on being able to do anything at the TDL.

Might as well stack as much depth as you can now.
