Some pressure on the Oilers for them to win tonight... lost 5-2 in front of the home crowd last night, last home game tonight before the holidays. Calgary is on their tail in the standings.

Really hope Kulak and Mete can get it together and hold down the 2nd and 3rd pairs. I don't want to mortgage the future while we await Romanov, Norlinder, Struble and Harris.

Hopefully we get another Chiarot this summer (unlikely). In the meantime it's up to Mete and Kulak. Reilly is not able to do the job.

At this point its time to experiment with making him a RW

Forget Connor and Leon, it's Kassian we have to worry about. Remember him? Was a Hab once. Now has 13 goals on the season.

There's so many mediocre teams in the NHL that if the Habs play non pants shitting defense and Price plays well, they can win games even though they're not a competitive team for the Cup.

Good for him. However, he was mostly a Hab on paper:

He never played a regular season game with the Canadiens. Instead, he was placed on waivers before the Canadiens managed to trade him to the Edmonton Oilers on Dec. 28, 2015, for goaltender Ben Scrivens.

Woman charged with crashing NHL player's truck while impaired learns fate today

Brings back memories of a dark time in Montreal. And that's just the idea of Scrivens as a Hab. :sarcasm:

What do you mean by mediocre?

In the cap NhL, it's hard to build an sll star team full of big salary players. As ll teams will have a balance and any team can best any other team on any night.

Boston creamed us 8-1 one night. But it's far from impossible for us to tske them out in the playoffs next if we were to squeak in. Look what happened to Tampa, Pittsburgh and Washington last year in the playoffs.

He means "average". Not mediocre in the French sense.

That's the challenge with the new NHL - you need to either have a super solid base of a roster with great timing to contend for years, OR you commit to a window. We're doing neither.

Edmonton are easily the most overrated team in the league . McDavid , Draisaitl , Two players who have never won anything . All they've proven over the years is they are beatable .

Their defensive game is weak as well as their goaltending. They have to fix that before thinking they can contend for a Cup.

How are they overrated, everybody agree that without McDavid they'd be dead last.

They're a shit team with no depth whatsoever.
