Liked him as a prospect. Not sure why he became so irrelevant. Haven't watched him closely in recent years

So what is the actual price for this guy. 300 Thousand till the end of the season. He's just a meal being thrown to the wolves.
By the way Pen fans. Your welcome. As bad as he is he's just in to fill a gap till the end of the season. Price was right.

Because of a few games in last year’s playoffs, where he played well, they’ll get a late pick for him at the deadline. Probably from a 6-8 seed team, looking for some depth.

Habs did this years ago with Philly and Metropolit. They've now completed a rare achievement.

I think Metropolit fought someone in that game, too.

Like i said in the other thread when he was waived...

I'd imagine if he's willing to kick around as an AHL/NHL journeyman riding busses in the AHL half the time, he still continues to get NHL games going forward. He's a "nothing" player, but there are always teams that will view that as, "meh, could do worse". Plus his draft pedigree and that "potential" he showed initially can be a powerful influence when it comes to teams sifting amongst a huge rubbish bin of assorted "nothing" players.

And here we are...

I'm glad we got White instead of Zegras.

Never thought it would be this easy to solve our center issues.

Onwards and sidewards...

For those interested, this cost Montreal $13,125, paid to Pittsburgh and not counted against the cap.

Season total: $898,125
25 claims

Habs need a low cost warm body C with no term on his contract.

White checks the boxes. Hughes just filling out the roster to complete the tank.

It's a good move by Montreal, not a ton of upside, but no downside.

Montreal needs to pick up a few players like this off of the scrap heap to fill roster spots when they trade a few guys away at the trade deadline.

It's better to take a relatively young player like White than older veterans.

Unlikely, as White has had his chances, but maybe they can salvage a serviceable 3rd / 4th line grinder out of White.

Again, there is no downside to this, and White is the type of player they should use to fill the upcoming empty roster spots.

White's problem (relative to becoming a good player, it's certainly not a life problem), is that thanks to Pierre Dorion's idiocy, he is set for life with like $16 million in career earnings. So he isn't as hungry to make himself into a useful player like guys with little career earnings would be.
