He turns over the puck everytime I look at him. He's been the worst D this season. He's small and yet still can't skate. He can't use his body to get the puck off anyone, and he skates so slow and has to be bailed out by Gardiner constantly.

Carrick is terrible, open your eyes and actually pay attention instead of praising him for his AHL dominance.

You should open your eyes dude. Although I agree he has been one of the worst D this season he is only 22 and improving and deserves to be in the NHL. Short-term pain= Long-term gain.

I don't like this carrick bashing. People only want to play rookies, but when the rookies perform like rookies, theyre up at arms.

Relax people, rookies need several years of development after making the NHL.

Babcock is pretty open book If Carrick is playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs, its because Babcock has a room at the Babcock hotel for that guy.

Trust me. No one, is getting onto this roster unless they please Babcock. No one.

Hyman and Brown, were penciled in. Penciled in. He loves skating and compete, he believes he can supply the rest./

Babcock is the first and only choice for team Canada. We should basically hand everything over to him. If Nielsen or Dermott wow, they get in. But I gotta tell ya, they better wow.

Thats why i'm glad we are keeping the likes of Valiev etc down on the farm until they are absolutely ready.

You've made a number of statements here and incredibly, all of them are incorrect.

Why are people so wrong about Carrick? He's been great.

Do you just need a scapegoat?

Then scapegoat Hunwick or Polak. Because they are the truly bad defenseman.

They aren't wrong about Carrick he causes at least 1 breakaway or odd man rush almost every game he's been awful and provides NOTHING on offense

he's brutal

Carrick is loved by Babcock. Why is that?

As much as I know about hockey, Babcock knows more.

Why? simple he's got 3 good D one of them is hurt so for the time being he has 2 good D.

Unfortunately you have to playat least 6 and he needs to pick through A LOT of ****, that pile of **** includes Carrick

It's always the same
Play the kids but unless they play like absolute studs they have to go even though we don't have a replacement and nobody's making trades right now
Carrick has potential
Will he reach it who knows but one thing I do know is that giving up on young defenseman is a mugs game
Carrick and Gardiner are a good partnership that's worked well for us

I don't know why people want to **** with a good thing

Ya that pairing has worked great with Carrick causing a breakaway almost every game

great pair

Thankfully Andersen bails him out game after game

Young defenseman make mistakes that's why it's called a learning curve

If we don't give the kid a chance he's never going to develop

The same argument your making to axe Carrick is exactly the same one people used to use to get rid of Gardiner
Looks how that turned out

Carrick is the new Gardiner in that he's constantly blasted by the portion of the fan base that treat Don Cherry's word as gospel. He's going to be a valuable piece in a couple years time and has done a solid job playing a little above his head on the second pairing.

Yet
The term your looking for is yet

Gardiner looks comfortable with the kid
There is no reason to break up a pair that's working

but it is NOT working pairs that work don't have 1 member of that pair causing breakaways or odd man rushes game after game after game after game

Carrick is not and never will be a top 4 d man the reason he is there now is the same reason Bernier was our #1 last year

there is no one else

He's a kid
He makes mistakes big deal
That's what young defenseman on the second pairing do
The fact he hasn't completely imploded with what he's been asked to do is a testament to the kids mental toughness

His numbers are good and he's not been on the ice for a G/A in the last three games
That's pretty ******* good

Everybody loves developing players until they actually have to start living with some growing pains and then the knives come out
Not everybody is the finished product in there first real full NHL season
Remember Gardiner? Or Kadri?

He's going to grow and become good in his own end? Sweet.

Again the reason he hasn't been on the ice for a goal against in 3 games is because Andersen has bailed his ass out over and over and over again that's why it's not because Carrick has been good

He's usually not in his own end, that's what makes him a valuable piece. He's been at 54% CF over 59 games in Toronto (5v5 close); the best way to prevent goals is to be in the opponent's end and that's what Carrick does.

He has many of Polak's *good* characteristics and can actually handle the puck, skate with it, etc. There's lots not to like but he's worth playing, especially over Corrado, and especially in overripening our other young defensemen. I still don't think he's 100% comfortable...but that's something that comes with time.

Carrick is the new Gardiner in that he's constantly blasted by the portion of the fan base that treat Don Cherry's word as gospel. He's going to be a valuable piece in a couple years time and has done a solid job playing a little above his head on the second pairing.

I actually think Cherry would love his fiesty brand of hockey.

Shoulda coulda woulda
I don't care why the other teams not scouring when he's on the ice
All I care about is the fact there not
And that's a FACT

This team is 15 in G/A and trending upward
Carrick is a big part of that no matter how much you don't like it
He's a + player who spends more time in the opponents zone than his own and he's young
I'd take that any day of the week

He makes some mistakes some of them are downright bad which stick in the mind and give people a bad impression of the kid but hes doing everything that could possibly be asked of him
