Monahan is the team's 3rd best centre, maybe 4th. If we can get a good RWer or RD for him, you take that and run

I think you're getting a bit silly here. Backlund is better than him in terms of all around play. No one else on the roster is, unless you're counting Lindholm as a centre.

I would deal Backlund over Monahan any day...... and Backlund is 1MM cheaper on the same term (3 yrs left).

With what we are likely offered for Monahan, unless we can package him with assets for guys like Laine/Ehlers, I think we are better off moving him to wing on a line away from JG.
