If we don't qualify him, he becomes a FA, so there is nothing. It's not an offer sheet kind of situation. Considering what the QO would have been if we offered him one, he would have taken it over the CAR offer anyway since it would have been 3 times what he makes now.

he is solid IF HE IS USED THE RIGHT WAY (you shouldnt have used this laundry machine)

At that price Ron should have been pursuing him, though sometimes it's a player's lifestyle decision, if you're a "good ole boy" Carolina ain't a bad place to have $5M (after agent and taxes) to settle down.

The Manning abuse is a sad reflection on the character of fans:
1) kid worked his butt off from a unsigned free agent to the NHL
2) good teammates, played hard
3) wasn't a good player, but we've seen lot's that were worse.

You can appreciate the team upgrading the position without trashing the player.
I don't believe in trashing players for lack of talent, lack of effort, yes, being soft, yes, but you can't control your talent, only what you do with it.

For anyone in Canada...it's advisible to avoid TSN and Roger's for at least the next year or two. You should probably avoid any sports talk radio as well. It is going to be disgusting.
