Seems to me his comment wasn't being sexist about women but rather about men.
That's exactly how I interpreted it when I heard it during the game. As a retired player, it was self-deprecating humor from Milbury.

I dislike how today only the most generic, cookie cutter, safe presentations are deemed acceptable; all the while people want more 'personality' in the game? I disagree that acting like a little leaguer with a childish, staged goal celebration equals personality.

I've always been a big fan of Kathryn Tappen, whose professionalism carries the between periods show. She was the needed balance when Roenick or Milbury (deliberately) pushed others' buttons.

Now that it's just KT and Patrick Sharpe, it's like watching Barbie and Ken regurgitate hockey cliches.

It's safe; non-threatening; it's apparently what the public demands. But it has no edge.
