No, because he was horse **** in his own end and lost us a ton of games, especially in the playoffs. He takes very stupid penalties as well. If we had a legit elite all-around D like Chara instead of Green, we would've been past the 2nd round already.

Yeah, injuries caused him to lose a step. Also, the defensive systems implemented in Washington after Boudreau's departure did not allow him to join the rush as a 4th forward like he used to. Finally, Carlson took over as the top defenseman on the team, and Niskanen pushed him down the depth chart to the 3rd pair.

Crazy, I don't think anyone would've guessed Suter was the d-man with 2 hattricks since 2010-11. That would be a great trivia question

The funny thing is Erik Karlsson wasn't even in ice for any of the 5 goals.
