And what a surprise that it came against Ottawa...its going to be a long year...no doubt we will lead the league in hat tricks against yet again this year.

Very underrated these days. He has his gaffes but he's a solid two-way guy. He's still a 2/3 in this league.

An interesting opinion.

He scored 31 in 68 in 2008-09, finishing 4th in CF% and 10th in GF%, three marks Chara didn't come remotely close to, and still didn't win the Norris.

I'm a fan of Chara, but it was probably the biggest award snub I can remember.

Good for him, but then again, it's Ottawa.

An interesting opinion.

Meh. Everyone was calling him an expensive 5/6 14 months ago. He's not a world beater but he's a reliable 2/3 these days, depending on the situation. You won't hear many Wings fans complaining.

He looked like he did in his Capital days in the game I caught vs the Panthers. Hope he can keep it up!

Green was 5/6 defenseman in Washington and still had an extremely impressive 50 pts. powerplay specialist his skating and passing soo smooth. One of my favorite d man of all time

No, because he was horse **** in his own end and lost us a ton of games, especially in the playoffs. He takes very stupid penalties as well. If we had a legit elite all-around D like Chara instead of Green, we would've been past the 2nd round already.

You really should watch hockey to understand why Green didn't get the Norris that season.

I expect him to improve on last year, he was relied upon more defensively last year. Our PP was a lot worse than the top 15 finish it had (he was a catalyst to it jumping up late in the season). From what we've seen from our #1 PP unit so far it is MUCH better. Bounce back year from Green hopefully who has actually been reletively solid defensively for us since when acquired him(well disregard the last 2 goals against Florida Satruday, he had the puck taken from him leading to both goals)
