Chicago moved him because he's not a core piece. But guess what? He's (probably) going to be core here. How many pieces do we have like that. Problem.
Chicago identified their core and they don't move. Ladd,Buff,Versteeg,Bolland,Stalberg,etc. all out and Chicago hasn't missed a beat.

that's the essential problem. nonis is trying to sign as much has he can. unlike the chi gm, it seems like he hasn't really identified a core but throws money after certain players and not others.

The defense took a lot of heat this year and well deserved but the total team defense was awful. You can't win championships without a solid team defense where everyone buys in.
The Leafs had way too many floaters this year. Resign Kormarov, trade for a 2/3 type defenseman and some hard working wingers. Not much on the free agent market but that could change come July.

I'd keep all of our centres except for McClement.

Move McClement, keep Bolland(without giving him a long term deal for ridiculous money), than you have Bozak, Kadri, Bolland, and bring up Holland for next season.

I just hope Kadri has a breakout year next season, he is due. He needs to improve his strength so he doesn't get knocked around so easily. Also needs to backcheck more.

I'm against trading Kadri, but I would do that in a second. Seth Jones is going to be a monster.

NO way Nashville does that, they would look to a lot of other teams where they could get a bigger return.

I'm inclined to think there would be a better offer as well, if Jones is even actually on the block.

Mike brings nothing to the conversation. Rehashes other people's stories, occasionally offers an opinion, but it's always so totally...meh. But he's got time on his hands, so he works well for Dwayne's site.
