I have a lot of problems with Babcock but the stretch passes are not one of them.
The reward is generally worth the risk. A successful stretch pass gives a breakaway/odd man rush and an unsuccessful stretch pass results in a neutral zone turnover/d-zone faceoff. Even if you're hitting a low percentage of them, it can still be worth it given how much more impactful they are when completed compared to missed.
