Oh look, BWC found a way to complain. It should help the tank as well, McCabe was playing way too well for my taste.

Retaining on 50% and having a restrictive condition on pick and no other asset is very valid thing to be not happy about

Pretty underwhelming return with the retention. McCabe for only 2M for 2+ years is a steal.

Agree

Overall, the Hawks should have gotten better or no top 10 protection on pick

Also why are we giving up mid round picks to Toronto in deal

And what are conditions on them?

Davidson has not had good performance overall in trades. Take away the Hagel trade and its mostly underwhelming

Dubas is all in here. If the Leafs fall flat, the firing of his ass will be one for the ages. That’s an exciting prospect in itself.

We know we are getting nothing for Kane

Domi is only asset we have left that anyone would want and our idiot GM was thinking of giving him an extension.
It was reported that Kyle Davidson was asking for a 1st round pick for McCabe and a 2nd round pick for Lafferty.

He got it.

He's not going to bend the knee.

So if Leafs fail to win Cup this sesdon or nextcseadin...do they let Mathews walk after 23/24and Tank in 24/25 ?Or do they make cap mostake and sign Mathews for an 8 year Max cibtract which cap fores cao dumps and cup co tender fails which also means the 2025 first we go might be a lottery pick..

Of course if they let Mathews walk after 2 more Cuo fails....do Hawks offer him a 7vyr Max cobtract or is that goibgvto be a mistake?

McCabe vs Orlov, it’s Orlov by a wide margin. Right?

Lafferty vs. Hathaway, it’s Hathaway by a lesser margin. Right?

The Hawks got a pretty similar return as the Caps by moving lesser players.

Caps didn't give up picks in trade or retain 50% which is $2M a year going forward

Davidson continues to struggle with trades and has repeatedly squandered his advantage to take lesser or outright shitty returns

Dubas got him to give up better 2nd in Mrazek cap dump when Davidson should have held firm on later 2nd going to Toronto or he was prepared to walk away

He gets taken advantage of easily

our idiot GM was thinking of giving him an extension.
This was media speculation. Why do you trash the GM with made up bullshit?

Your default is always that the GM f***ed up. It doesn’t matter what the move is.

But then you go on the trade board and, for the most part, propose laughable and lopsided trades. It’s no wonder you think the GM is always wrong when unfair deals are the baseline in your head.

Got a protected 1st round pick while eating 50% of his deal going forward. Not as impressive as you make it out

And Davidson is probably going to send valuable assets with Kane to Rangers. It's his MO to tilt advantage to opposite GM

Or he doesn't give up the early 2nd, and the Leafs trade him to a team that would have. You act as if the only teams in the league are the Hawks and whatever team the Hawks are dealing with.

That's probably the best way to think about it. Caps set the market, and Chicago benefited by simply holding until closer to the deadline.

I could actually kind of see the opposite. Taking NYR's Goodrow contract + some picks in an exchange for Kane

I'd be shocked if we get market value for Kane (and frankly would be a bit disappointed that we didn't do right by our generational player if we don't move him because of it).

This trade also decent if it helps the Leafs finally win a playoff round since we have Tampa's first this year.

This is what the deals are all about. Who we give up, who we retain on, doesn't matter.

We gave up potentially a 3rd rounder by your own recent post

Its BS

Leafs got 50% retention, top 10 protection on 1st and picks including potential 3rd

Davidson again squanders upper hand and value in deal
